Hi Mike,
You could have an outside airleak which would let in warm moist air into the freezer.OR the condensate drain tube is plugged up or frozen up. thats the drain tube that drains the melted ice from the freezer OR the condenser fan located buy the compressor is not running. Check all drain tubes and drain channels for clo-
ging or freeze-up due to improper and complete draining.

Have a Samsung RF217 Refrigerator that is collecting water in the right vegetable bin? Fridge does not have ice maker.

Just had mine repaired. The evaporator drain is plugged with ice. The solution is to replace the heat sensor and add a piece of metal extending from the small heat coil under the evaporator that supplements the piece already there. The guy that repaired mine used a piece of coat hanger wire for the extension. Except for the heat sensor, it's a repair anyone can do. Just take off the plastic cover on the inside back of the fridge, melt the ice obstruction in the drain and hang a piece of wire from the heat coil into the drain. He also used some metallic duct tape to raise the height of the drain tray on the ends so that it wouldn't overflow in the future.

I have a Whirlpool ED2CHQXKQ05. The freezer seems to be working fine, but the refrigerator part doesn't seem to be cooling correctly. The center part that divides the freezer to the refrigerator is...

Hello,

It's normal for the center divider to be warm but it should never be so hot it will burn you when touching it. A few things to check are;

The coil on the the bottom of refrig. behind the grill under the doors, check and clean all dust from it using a vacuum and ref. coil brush to clean all dust from it

The condenser fan motor..its behind the rear access plate in the back of the unit, remove back plate and check that fan motor by the compressor is running.

Good luck, GENE

WATER IS COLLECTING ON SHELVES-LOST MANUAL-DOES IT HAVE A DRIP PAN UNDERNEATH

Your defrost is working - but the drain tube is clogged. It may be debris causing the clog - but more than likely it is ice.

Access the drain tube and defroster behind the back wall of the freezer. Remove built up ice on the floor of the freezer and the drip tray under the freezer coil and defroster coil. Don't use any sharp tools! Locate the drain tube at the low point of the drip tray. Attempt to clear it of ice by using a turkey baster (or the like) filled with hot water. Direct a stream of hot water from it into the drain tube. Ice may be an inch or two thick in the tube. Once the ice is clear, water should flow easily and quickly down the tube to the drip pan under the fridge - where it will be evaporated away.

To prevent the ice from forming in the drain tube in the future, hang some metal wires (preferably copper) from the the defrost coil down into the drain tube. Make the sure the wire is long enough so that it extends at least as far into the drain tube as the ice had clogged. The metal wire conducts the heat from the defroster down into the drain tube - thus preventing ice from forming - and clogging the drain. Use copper or aluminum wire if you can - steel coat hanger wire can be used if you can't find any copper or aluminum, but it will rust. Copper electrical wire # 14, # 12 or even # 10 is ideal, but the thicker the wire is the harder it is to work - it may be easier to use 3, 4 or more pieces of the smaller # 14 gauge wire instead of 1 or two pieces of # 10.

This worked for me and will probably work for you, too. If this was helpful, please rate my answer "4 thumbs up" - thanks!

I have a samsung RS2555SL the fan does come on and the refrigator side is not cooling the freezer side is cooling.

It sounds like you have a iced up evap in the Fresh Food side so You need to clean all the ice near the top light and all from all the places.
Appart from this you should also get the thermistor checked and the frig fan. Doing this will fix the problem.

FRESH FOOD COMPARTMENT ICE IS FORMING ON FAN BLADE

You may have the tempt set on too low, and possibly not enough food items inside for the fridge to properly keep. I'd set the tempt to the manufacturer settings.

Refrig not cooling

Either the fan that blows cold air from the freezer compartment to the fresh food compartment is burned out or the door/flap that seperates the compartments is stuck or the linkage connecting it to the fresh food temperature dial is stuck or broken.

The evaporator coils are in the freezer compartment and air is blown from the freezer compartment to cool the fresh food compartment. For some reason, air is not moving to fresh food compartment.

If the fan is running, it could be something as simple as Ice blocking to door between the freezer and fresh food compartment. I know modern refrigerators are self-defrosting, but that's only the evaporator coils, which are defrosted by a timer and a heater.

Ice can form on passageways inside the refrigerator, like the exit of the ice maker and in this case, on the door and 'tunnel' between the freezer and fresh food compartment. It's free, and doesn't take a lot of time, so try completely defrosting the unit before doing anything else.

BE SURE to keep the doors open, as odors can form as particles of food are allowed to defrost that may have been frozen in an ice pack for months or even years. Clean the interior of the refrigerator while you have everything out and reset the controls to normal settings.

If this doesn't help, there may be a mechanical problem with the air transfer control flap/door that will need to be fixed.

Hope this helps.

Whirlpool Refrigerator fresh food section cool but not cold (freezer ok).

The most likely problem is in the defrost system. Behind the freezer panel there is not only an evaporator fan, but also the evaporator itself, and a defrost heater, termination bi-metal, and drain pan (or trough). You will likely find ice build-up in the evap coil. This could be caused by the defrost timer, the heater, or the termination bi-metal.
Have a service tech look at the unit.

GE Monogram refrigerator/freezer problem/ice dam in ice maker

I have had the same problem with ice forming. I found the problem is from the ice maker. The water fill tube delivers water to a plastic piece that acts like a funnel. The water goes through this plastic piece into the ice maker. Ice forms in the plastic funnel piece causing the water to overflow into the ice bin and freezer.
