I need help wiring an an/off switch for an Indesit IDL 500. I already have the spare on/off switch for it (merc00142650), but unsure how to wire it up. The original switch that I labelled for which wire went where has been lost :( which is just typical! Any help appreciated :) I do not have any tools like a multimeter or anything, sorry. Many thanks

Had a similar problem (flashing lights 1 and 2). Drained the machine by diconnecting the outlet hose and using a shallow bowl on the floor. Removed and cleaned filters. Forced clean water through by using a garden hose pipe(you can only do this one way, you cannot force water down the outlet pipe). Removed and cleaned the pump (you have to do this from under the machine but easy enough). Finally ensuring the waste trap under the sink was clear. Bingo!! No parts, no expensive engineer.

SOURCE: Indesit IDL 500 Pump noise when switched on not

this indicates that there is water in the base of the unit activating the safety float switch... usually a leak..or an overfill due to blocked filter
Power off & remove plug
1st port of call would be to drain the base by pulling forward and tipping back.. make sure you have large towels to hand...
Once drained power up again and put on quick wash...
if cycle completes verify no leak by tipping back again and no water should flow..
if there is a leak then the flashing would resume during cycle... and best get someone in to locate as there are a few possibilities...

SOURCE: ndesit IDL 535 DW, not cycling, water coming from under unt.

The washer is fitted with an anti flood device that detects water leaks and closes water inlet valve and puts washer in pump out mode. The anti flood device is a polystireen float with micro switch at the bottom floor of the washer. Dry the water and find the leak (pipe or pipe clamp) and this should then solve the error.

Refer the user guide for the error meaning. Switch off the machine and try.

Still the same problem contact the service engineer as this will ease your work!

Indesit IDL 500 Pump noise when switched on not continuous, sounds like it is acting in surges, and the pre-wash indicator light flashes in time with the surges. Is this a fault, what is the solution?
