Mitsubishi Diamond WD-65831 65" Projection HDTV Logo
Anonymous Posted on Oct 17, 2011

WE have a Mitsubishi WD-65831 tv. When we first turn it on, it turns off after 5 min. When the yellow light stops blinking we turn it back on. This happens about 3 times before it stays on. What is causing this? The sleep timer is not on.

SOURCE: mitsubishi wd-62825 dlp

The WD62825 has a Digital Module located on the left side of the chassis looking at it from the rear of the set. It's housed in a metal box that can slide out of its holder after removing the trim screws.
The module has its own power supply board and there are a group of 16v/1000uf caps on that board which commonly fail causing the constant flashing standby light. Further back on the module is a small board about the size of a matchbook called the E2P module. Its SMT (Surface Mount Technology) caps also commonly fail which can cause the same symptoms. Techs can tell whether the E2P has failed by simply removing it, hooking the DM back up and trying to power the set. If it powers on the picture won't be much good - but at least you can tell what's keeping it down...
Back to the caps on the pwr board. If they've failed they usually will buldge visibly on top. And ESR is almost not necessary. In any event that's the nuts and bolts on this model.
Is it a job for a layman? Yes and no - you might strongly consider a tech if you don't feel comfortable removing all the connections that the DM has with the signal board. There are about six - multi-pin - wired connections to unplug and then sliding the DM out of the unit and carefully removing the screws and latching to take the DM top cover off...
Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Mitsubishi WD-62525 yellow blinking status light

Check that the lamp door is closed all the way. There is a saftey switch that closes from the door being on all the way. If not the status light will keep blinking. There is also a switch on the air filter door.

SOURCE: Mitsubishi Model WD-52725 timer green light blinking fast

My Mitsubishi WD52725 will not turn on...the timer light is blinking. We pushed the reset button, unplugged tv. Just got off the phone with Mitsubishi customer "service." After answering numerous personal questions, and being on hold for several minutes, I was told that the only solution was to push the reset button. Duh! We'd done that several times with no change, which is why I called them! BIG WASTE OF TIME!!!!

SOURCE: my mitsubishi wd-62528 has a constant rapid green

Thats a common problem most likley caused by failed capacitors on the DM and the power board. You can get the V26 Chassis DM / Power repair kit from www.tvrepairworld.com which contains the capacitors and the CD with instructions for the repair.

Fan noise running when tv is on

Mitsubishi rear projection DLP keeps turning off and shutting down. The red light then turns on for a while and then turns off. TV can be turned on again and works fine until a random shutdown occurs again. No fault codes are stored. No blink codes. No airflow warning messages. The original thermal sensor was replaced 8-1/2 years ago. Fans are completely clean and running smoothly. I fixed this problem by replacing the 8.5-year-old thermal sensor. The problem is gone. Mitsubishi thermal sensor part number 299P313010A. Manufacturer part number YS11A95B-C6. Do not use the connector plug. Strip the wires, and hard wire and solder the 2 connections. This might also apply to these models: WD-52631, WD-57731, WD-57732, WD-65732, WD-57831, WD-65831, WD-Y57, WD-Y65

I have a mitsubishi dlp tv model wd 60738 and when i turn it on the power button blinks for a second and then it stops but no picture and after while turns off

Most likely you need to replace the projection bulb. You can find them online. DLP sets are famous - or infamous - for burning out the bulbs/lamps.

Wd-65831 status light constantly blinks

have you tried a new lamp? part# 915P049020
web site: http://www.shopjimmy.com/dlplamps?tv_brands_select=Mitsubishi&tv_models=Mitsubishi+WD-65831

I strongly recommend the original part# as many replacements will not work properly in a Mitsubishi.

Wd-60737 mitsubishi blinking yellow status light ?

Mitsubishi TV troubleshooting
Here's something that might also be useful. After you turn on the set, and get the regular red blinky lights, hold down the Device and Menu buttons together for about 5 seconds.
The Power light will start to flash in a two digit sequence.
For example, 3 flashes, then 7 flashes = 37.
Here are the error codes, and the corresponding problem:
12 = No error detected, check power supply.
32 = Lamp Cover is open.
33 = Air filter cover is open.
34 = Lamp abnormality
36 = Light Engine (DMD or Lamp Fan stopped)
37 = Exhaust or Lamp Ballast Fan stopped
38 = Lamp Temperature High
39 = DMD Temperature High
41 = Short is detected
44 = DVI cable between FMT and Engine disconnected

Green light turns on for 1 or 2 seconds and then goes off. tv won't turn on, no picture.

Have you tried accessing the self diagnosis feature by pressing the menu and device buttons both together and holding for for 5 seconds? If not try that and let me know the error code. It will be a two digit blink sequence which will repeat a few times. Let me know what the blink sequence is.

Mitsubishi ws-73711 turns on (I see a green power light) then off

press and hold 'device ' and 'menu' buttons on front of tv until the power light starts to blink out an error code . It will blink a few then pause and....repeat.. . Count the blinks. It is giving a two digit error code and repeating it 3 or 4 times. 22=low voltage short detected usually caused by the convergenge amp I.C. .12=normal
