Is it archos 5 or archos 5 IT ?
For archos 5 IT is already upgrade to 2.2 as far as I know. For archos 5 I don't think there is one and with archos they don't bother doing anymore upgrades for older models.
Found this for the archos 5 IT. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GzgfCTp6--k
Choose the 101 from the dropdown list and then download the firmware. There are instructions on that site that teaches you how to do this firmware update.

The achois is enabled to display media. The computer that would feed media into the achois device may should be undated with flash player also acquireable on the internet. Once the computer has flash player capacities or programs installed, the achos player becomes compartible with computer and media requiring transfers becomes achievable.
With Archos 70 Internet Tablet, you need to download a specific version of Adobe Flash Player from Google Market since it runs Android OS. And A70 doesn't come with GMarket, rather Appslib, which doesn't quite cut it.
Luckily someone has made a neat little .apk file thath as Google Market, which lets you download GMarket and download/install all its apps/games/etc on your A70.
Just download the following .apk file and install it on your A70, afterwards download Adobe Flash Player from Google Market. However, this hack ONLY works on 2.2 froyo android OS, so make sure your A70 firmware is up to date.
I'd also recommend installing Dolphin Browser HD as it seems to provide a more refined flash browsing experience coupled with the Adobe Flash Player.
You should be on firmware version 2.1.04 (WMDRMPD:10.1) If connected to your computeer or on WiFi then :-
Main Screen
Menu
Settings
Firmware + Plugins
and click on....Online Firmware Update
This version of the firmware does allow some videos. Unfortunately if the videos come up with blank screen with a red F9 in the middle this signifies a version of FlashPlayer not yet supported. We just have to wait and see if Archos are still going to support the 605 with more firmware updates or if their hands fare too ull with the new Archos 5 Android.
