Hello,

The reason the oven ogniter will come on yet their is no heat in the oven is because that igniter is weak and not drawing the proper power to allow the gas valve to open. By replacing the oven igniter it will open the gas valve and once again heat the oven.

Maytag gas oven takes a long time heat and smells of gas.

Important---if you smell gas--I'd be very very careful---could be your control valve or lines to it are malfunctioning or leaking. You might have to call in an expert repair person. How old is the oven? Some preliminary checks you might make are: Do you have a pilot lite or preheaters on the unit? If a pilot lite, make sure it is lit. An unlit pilot lite could sometimes give the smell of gas if malfunctioning. If so, there is is a procedure for lighting the pilot lite--check your user or installation manual. If you have pre-heaters make sure they are lighting up. Normally you have one for the top broiler burner, and one for the bottom oven burner. Check your preheater(s) by selecting either broiler or oven and visually checking to see if they are warming up. After 15 seconds or so, they should be turning bright red. You will see some light coming from them. Check one pre-burner at a time. If they do not come on quickly, shut off the associated valve. Again, be very, very careful with any buildup of gas. It could cause an explosion. At the least it could make you sick.

The pilot lites always comes on but it still dose not always heat up the oven you have to play with the dial. Its a magic chef oven.

Try tapping the pilot burner a few times with the end of a butterknife to dislodge ash and dust

Oven not receiving any gas but pilot is working

Sounds like you have a weak ignitor (pilot lite) . The ignitor has to turn white hot , not red , orange , but white , to open the gas valve . Replace the electronic ignitor and that should get the oven working .

Maytag gas oven doesn't heat, but oven's pilot light is on.

Get the oven checked out by a professional, if you have a gas leak you can easily blow up the entire house and you with it. I think you have a faulty gas valve based on what you wrote

Lang gas pizza oven.. Main burners won't lite!

Hello. It sounds like, from what you said, you have a new thermocouple. The device it is attached to, the pilot safety, could have a problem internally that allows gas to the pilot, but does not open the main part of the valve, or electrically has failed on the main coil. If you have a thermostat with wires on it, you can jumper the wires, to bypass it, temporarily please, if it comes on, you need a thermostat, if not, it is the valve most likely.

Hope that helps, and thank you.

When Oven turns off so does oven pilot

Hi there, it is possible of the pilot being too close, but usually does not have that effect, unless the pilot is too small. But if you replaced the pilot, it should be clean, so next I would look at the gas pressure, if this is too low, the flame won't have proper burning speed, and strength, and could get drawn out. The control valve may be of the type that has a regulator built in, you may need someone skilled at gas pressure measuring, to do this, your gas supplier, appliance professional, plumber, should be able to do this.

Let us know, and thank you.

Premier 30 inch gas stove oven does not light

do you hear any clicking when you try to start the oven portion of the range? if not lets try this, open the lower drawer so you can see the burner bar and mechanism for lighting the bake bar. as your watching the mechanism turn on the oven (nothing should happen as per your issue) while oven is on try lighting one of the top burners, any one will do wanna check if that lites the spark and in turn lites the oven pilot.if that does infact work you have a bad spark switch for the oven control
