We have an Electrolux Renaissance model # C104H vacuum. The vaccum just stopped. What do you suggest we do? And under the worst case, where can we purchase a motor along with an installation diagram?

Traditionally Electrolux motors are reliable and long lasting but these days who knows who makes what.
What happens with sickening regularity is the cleaner loses suction and the filters are removed to provide a boost and then the bag bursts and the muck and dust goes through the motor - seriously bad news for an Electrolux.

When a vacuum stops, about 7 times out of 10 the power cord has developed an internal break, 2 times out of 10 the switch has failed and 1 time out of 10 something else has failed, such as the thermal breaker or fuse or maybe the motor, even then it might be repairable - after extended service the brushes wear out for instance.

I suggest you first discover what is wrong...

Would like to know if there is a reset button on the Electrolux Upright Vacuum Cleaner! Model # EL5010 Type :A-1

Hi, check the troubleshooting on page 19 of the manual. I does,'t mention a reset button but I would imagine that it has a self-resetting thermal switch which could take half an hour for the motor to cool down (fairly common).

How to repair electrolux xio no power

Could be a break in the cable, thermal switch if it has one, some have them on the motor in case of overheating. Could be a faulty power switch.
Could be a number of things, if you are not confident enough to take it apart and look then you should take it to a repairer.

Electrolux diplomat power switch won't depress. One minute it was working, the next it wasn't. When I try to press the button, it doesn't feel like I'm making a connection. The Empty Bag light came on when...

The power switch has failed if it wont depress. As for the change bag light, its a little tube that measures airflow. If it gets clogged up it can issue a faulty code. Its best left to a vac shop to fix the check bag light. Depending on how handy you are the power switch isn't too bad to replace. I recommend searching youtube or consulting the vac expert collective of vacuumland.org.

The motor stops while you are using it and the stand by lights up

you are over heating the motor ...that is caused by low airflow ... make sure the bag is not full, hoses not clogged and secondary filters (sometimes on the output side) are not clogged ... make sure there is lots of air going thru the motor .. the motor cant run long without air to cool it ... it has a thermal switch that trips when it gets too hot .. the thermal switch resets itself when the motor has cooled ...

Electrolux 2100 hot motor light came on because hose was plugged

The thermal switch should reset itself after it has cooled. If it still won't restart after a while longer, put a a new bag in the machine and turn the machine off and back on. The only other things that should keep it from running other than the thermal overload, is the bag being full or the bag not being present. Either of these faults would need to be corrected and then the machine switched off and back on to clear them. I hope this helps. Good Luck!!

Electrolux Canister - Stops working after 1-2...
Our vac works for a short time, then shuts off and makes clicking noise as if trying to restart again. Works after cooling for a while but for another very short time. Your suggestion on fix would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure
I would advise that it could be a thermal switch or a regular switch that the thermal switch is over heating and needs replacement – there are small hoses in the door section that could have been pinched or kinked and it stopping the air flow from the vacuum – also check for a clogged or plugged vacuum hose, a full vacuum bag or a dirty vacuum filter. Check the thermal switch or reg switch or the hoses in the door. Or feel free to contact your local vacuum dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or call the factory @ the phone number listed below:
