Hi Carl,

Actuallly You can check your speaker resistance using OHM meter . The value should be 4, 8. or 16 ohms ( compare it with the nameplate). The broken speaker will give you resistance : infinity or zero. If the value get match : there is nothing problem with your speaker, and the problem may lies on your cables, or amplifier. Regards,

Can my la590 American legacy 2 series 800 watt handle Boss CX122 Chaos Exxtreme 12-Inch Subwoofer 4-Ohm Voice Coils??

It is only stable to 4 ohm mono(which is 400 watts RMS or a bit less not the max rating of 800 watts which is a PMPO rating).

Your Sub would have to be wired in series(8 ohm final load, if you wire it in parallel 2 ohm-you will fry that amp).

Can't really find anything about them but maybe if you contact Legacy and beg a little they might have a circuit diagram hiding away somewhere. Here:Legacy

I need to know the size of external fuses for a american legacy amp 2000 watt 2 channel 1990

25 to 30 amp fuses will work great, anything lower could possibly blow a fuse when a good bass note hits even if there is nothing wrong with the amp. Hope this helps.

Orion xtr15 to a american leagacy la 660 amp

your only choice is to run the amplifier at a 4 ohm mono load - this will not reult in the amplifier making much power.
Positive on sub to Positive on amp.
Negative on sub to Negative on amp.
This is your only possibility.

Adding a second sub in the same fashion will result in a 2 ohm load, and your amplifier will run at its rated potential.

Problem with legacy amp

I would check the RCA preamp wires connecting the stereo to the amp. If these are loose or broken, it could cause you to lose your sound.

Does the amp show signs of life, such as clicking on, an LED turns on, or anything like that?

Has anything else changed between the time it worked and didn't work?
