I am the one here who first posted about taking the front keyboard out; if you replaced the caps in the DM unit and or pico fuses and still have the 'blinking green light of death" consider sending the board unit to PTS electronics.

You can get a quote from them for the repair and they have a 800 number; if you tried the usual things and it does not work go that way. Even with the factory service manual and schematics you will find it nearly impossible with the Unit in the set to take voltages and troubleshoot it.

DM unit in correctly working set should cause set to have blinking power light for about 70 seconds and then go out--it is DM booting up---if it does not stop blinking either a problem with DM or connections where it plugs into main board.

Let me know if you have questions or need help, I am here to help

The tv just turns off after about 5 seconds and won't stay on. i've used the system reset and unplugged it already. no power surge, lightning storm, etc. Ideas?

If reset does not cure it and if after about 70 seconds of unplugging set the green power light stops blinking, do this:

When power light comes on and goes off, on the front of the set press and hold both the menu and input buttons at the same time for at least 5 seconds and RELEASE both buttons.

Power light should blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks, 2 blinks, a pause and repeat it four more times.

Let me know what error code you find and if this told you something you did not know, rate this solution as very helpful as I do this here for free.

Would you like to bypass, defeat or reset your Mitsubishi HDTV Parental V-Chip parental lock? Have you forgotten your V-Chip passcode or password?

If you forget your V-Chip passcode, you can view the locked TV without entering your password.

When your passcode is requested, press the number 9 and the QV button on the original TV remote control at the same time. This process temporarily unlocks your TV.

When you enter the V-Chip Lock menu, pressing the number 9 and the QV button on the original TV remote control at the same time will delete your old password and prompt you to enter a new passcode. Pressing HOME at this time will cancel the entire passcode.

I hope that helps.

Mitsubishi ws-55511 does not turn on

Listen: you need to wait for the set to first shut off! then push on the TV(not the remote) Input and Menu both at the same time for 5 seconds and then release---the power light will then blink---this model has this feature--

I had a power outage and now the tv will not power on. This is for a 55" Mitsubishi WS-55511. no green blinking lights.

Hi,

You may have a blown fuse. Unplug the TV and remove the back. Look for a small fuse near where the power cord goes in.
If it is blown that may be the problem.
Use a magnifying glass to read the AMP rating.
replace the fuse and plug it in. If the fuse blows again you need expert repair services.

If the fuse doesn't blow then try to turn it on.
If it turns on then check the operation of the TV.

If the fuse blows again or the TV won't work correctly then you need expert repair service to fix your TV.

You may be able to have your household insurance pay if it is damaged by lightening or a power surge.

WS-55511 55in volume turns up by itself & can't switch devices

The remote is not the problem. The switch for volume up on the control panel has become leaky. Very common problem for this generation Mitsubishi. If you don't mind not having the control panel working you can disconnect it and the set will work just fine with the remote. To disconnect the control panel pull the speaker grill, it just snaps off, and remove the front access panel. Once that is done you'll see a cable going to the switches just disconnect it.

Your Solution to the WS-55511

There are 2. One controls the front panel and the other controls the front output. Unplugging it will not interfere with the remote. In fact, you will only be able to operate the tv with the remote. Let me know how you make out. Incidentally, I sent an email off to Mitsubishi and surprisingly they got back to me in a day. I informed them about the problem all these people are having and they are actually looking into it. They even offered to pay for my new front panel. Go figure!!

Mitsubishi WS-55511 Problem TV out - Getting only continously blinking green light on the front-panel

I had the same problem with the blinking light on the front of the TV and it would not power up. I read all the problems everyone was having and thought I was going to face a huge repair bill. The service guy came out, pulled off the front panel where the speakers are and disconnected the circuit for the front display panel. 3 1/2 minutes in my house, $90 service call. Apparently, when you give the TV too many commands at once, it's safety feature is to"shut down and lock up". He mentioned also that sometimes when these sets get to be about 4-5 years old, the wires in front can "leak" causing a shortage and then locking up the TV. I keep the circuit unplugged and operate the TV solely by the remote. Give it a try, what can it hurt!! Hope this helps.

Will not power on. Please Help!!

Error code 12 means normal operation. On these models we have found that a switch is sticking on the control panel not allowing the set to turn on. Disconnect the control panel. You will be able to use the remote on it. To find the plugs for the control panel: Remove the speaker grill and front panel, then follow the wire to the connection. Remember to unplug the set before putting your hands inside of it. Tell me how it went. Lead Tech
