Hi,
You may have to get the printhead replaced but first:-
Was the paper jam cleared?[disconnect everything even your PC and re-connect to start afresh]
Clean the printhead by:-

  • Load a plain A4 size paper into paper tray.
  • On the printers control panel, press the setup button.
  • Select tools nad then press OK.
  • Select 'clean printhead and then press OK.
  • After the printhead cleaning, turn the printer off and then on.

Hope this helps.Thanks!

Paper mismatch officejet 6500 crumples

There could be a foreign object or torn piece of paper that's stuck further inside the printer mechanism path. Try using a flashlight and inspecting any access or clean out hatches. Sometimes something will be caught inside and cause the paper you feed in to crumple and create a jam. I watched a video on youtube giving different ideas on how to fix this problem. I have an HP 6500 printer. Worked fine yesterday, today am getting the message "the cartridge cradle cannot move. Please turn device power off. Check device for a paper jam or other...

Check to see if your credit card offers extended warranty. That's why I buy EVERYTHING on an American Express card, which adds 1 year of warranty beyond the manufacturer's on everything you buy.

These devices are disposable, and HP is particularly fragile. I wouldn't buy another HP product. When you decide to replace this, you'll be a lot happier with Canon or Epson.
