I just got a maytag washer and the model is MAH4000AWW I'm using it for the first time I have never used any front loader washers before but this one spins then stops then spins then stops and so on...is this normal???

It could be the motor control board not telling the motor to switch to its highest speed, but it could also be control board not telling the motor control board to activate, but it could also be in the timing circuit. What other indications are you getting? Take a look at the wiring diagrams for this machine on the referenced site.

the sound is unmistakeable and always described the same...
the water issue, you probably have a trickle leak through the cold water valve
the mixing valve is quite an easy repair, but I would have to say with all honesty, it probably time for a new machine
the hub seal is a tub replacment call
2 hrs of labor if hes good
and the tub runs around 500.00 dollars

Hi john, There is a blue cover that i am suspecting you are missing from the softener/bleach dispenser. It fits over the two tubes in the dispenser and it siphons the water out. It is part number 22002266. Also the machine has a water filled balance ring. It is normal to hear sounds of water when the tub is turned. If you can see water in the spinner its a different story.
It helps trying to actually weigh your dirty linen. Try to wash within what is mentioned in your manual. Also see that the door is closed firmly. Would be useful if you'd post back results.....
