You can try to reseat the lcd cable and make sure it is tight. It that fails then you will need to replace the LCD screen

If the backlight is burned out then you will need to replace the LCD screen. It is fairly easy to do and runs about 30 dollars from ebay.

It is possible that the backlight on your LCD is burned out. If you have a friend with a Sidekick LX, see if you can swap the lcd screens quickly. This will let you determine if it is the phone or the LCD screen

un screw the screen blow at the metal ends inside the phone and the lcd and screw it back on and do that until it works
