To close your Yahoo! account, please follow the steps on the Account Termination page. There
are a few things you should understand before you delete your account.
•You will be asked to sign in or to verify the password for the account you want to delete.
•Before deleting your account, please read the instructions on the Account Termination page
carefully, as important information about your account is included. You can then confirm the
deletion of your account.
Please complete the deletion process only if you are certain you want to remove your entire
Yahoo! account and any features you have personalized within the account. After you delete
your Yahoo! account, you can reactivate it by signing in again and waiting for them to re-
activate it.
•When you close your account, you will lose access to your Yahoo! ID, Yahoo! Mail, and
profile names. We will delete your account data and settings across the Yahoo! network. This
means you will lose all of your content in Yahoo! Mail, Yahoo! Contacts, My Yahoo!, Yahoo!
Groups, in your Yahoo! Finance Portfolio, and in any other area of Yahoo! that can only be
accessed with your Yahoo! ID and password.
•Deleting your Yahoo! account does not alter or delete your Yahoo! People Search listing. You
must edit or delete this separately.
•If you are subscribed to any premium services, we recommend that you cancel them before you
delete your account. There is no guarantee that deleting your Yahoo! account will immediately
cancel the billing for any premium services to which you are subscribed. To cancel your
current subscriptions, please view the Yahoo! Billing Information for your account, click My
Services, and then click the Cancel link for each subscription.

Why is it that when I send messages some recipients don't receive my massages some do receive, but they also have Yahoo E-mail.They are there in the sent messages folder.

Are you getting any messages back stating a problem with sending to those people? It is possible that the ones who are not receiving your emails may have their anti spam settings set to strict. You will probably need to contact them by phone, and ask them to check their spam settings in their yahoo account. Sometimes if they do not have your email address in their contact list, it will block message from that address.Another possibility is that their yahoo.com email account is no longer active.

Hi..my Yahoo account says there is suspicious activity on my a/c and won't let me send emails all of a sudden,

Some "computer-hacker" has obtained the password to your Yahoo! account,
and is logging-on with your ID and your password, and is sending "spam" E-mail,

Change your password. Change your "secret-questions".

Then, contact Yahoo!, to get the "block" removed.

I have some hack or virus that is sending emails from my yahoo account to my contacts with a link to a canadian company selling viagra and cialis, etc.. I want to stop this from happening...

Recently spam hackers have been hijacking Email accounts to use for their own dirty deeds and scams. The best thing to do is to deactivate your Yahoo account and make a new one.

Click here to go to the Yahoo compromisation web site and follow the instructions to disable your account.

The reason deleting the account is because these spam hackers are sending unwanted advertising to all your contacts claiming to be you. As far as you know they might even be sending emails to all your contacts asking for money.
There was a recent scam where spam hackers hijacked this lady's account and sent a message to all her contacts that she was stuck in Namibia and needed money to be sent to a specified account to get home.

To stop it, delete your email account, or if you are able to regain access, change your password to something a little more complex and define for yourself a few security questions only you would know. Another thing is just to contact all the people you had in your contacts and tell them that you account has been compromised and that they must ignore any emails received from it.

My yahoo email and facebook accounts have been hacked. I changed the passwords twice last week, trying to get rid of the hacker, but now I can't even access my yahoo account. My ex mother in law is...

Had you ever assigned a special question to your account that only you will know the answer?
It is clear to me that you have probebly use the same password for both your Facebook account and your Email.

You can go here and declare your account compromised. It will ask you for your Yahoo ID and to copy the provided code into the block provided.

Sometimes Yahoo mail servers are comprimised by spam hackers for spam use so don't go accusing you ex's mother just yet.

It would be a good idea to open a new account and tell all the people who you had in your contacts that your Yahoo account has been compromised.
There was a recent scam where hackers were hijacking accounts and sending mails to all your contacts claiming to be you and telling them to deposit large sums of money into a certain account as you are stranded in Nigeria.

With this in mind:
1) Declare your account compromised here.
2) Delete your old account.
3) Create a new account.
4) Assign security questions that ONLY you would know the answers to. (This is a major way in preventing this from happening again)
5) Send emails to all of your contacts that you had in your old account telling them of the compromisation and to ignore ALL emails from your old account.

Your rating for this solution is highly appreciated.
Thanks.

Spam e-mails are being sent from my account to everyone on my e-mail list. I am not sending them. What can I do?

May be its the work of virus or you would have been the scapegoat of some hacker! change your password..send mail to all in your contact list that 'My account might have been hacked'. and don't click on links in mails received from unknown and even known people in future!
Cheers!

Someone is sending emails to all of my contacts and it is not me...how do I make this stop, short of closing my yahoo account... my email address is [email protected] if this cannot be...

Hi,

There are chances that someone has knows your password and is sending mails from your email id. Check your sent folder to find out if someone has sent mail from your email id.

Or

Someone is using spam email ( third party ) and enter your email id in from field and sending the mails.

Still getting lots of spam

Here's a suggestion, you really can't do a whole about now, however, you can set up an alternate yahoo account and only use for sending and receiving mail to known and trusted people. I have been a yahoo client for the past 14 years and I have several alt. accounts each for a specific purpose, I don't give these addy's out to anyone or anysite unless I know and trust them. Absolutely no spam in these accounts for years. If you need further help, call this number:
