I already have my desk top connected to the printer. I would like to hook up the wife's lap top to the same printer. Alright so I got this new laptop and it has Windows Vista on it.. and my other computer is just windows XP and i want to hook up the printer to this laptop so that i dont have to file transfer every single time i want to print something off. i have the network magic up and running but before when i tried to connect the printer it didnt work. Now i want to go back and do that but i TOTALLY forget how to start the old process ! HELPP!
You could also "Share" the printer. If you have a network of the 2 pc's. the printer stays connected trough usb prefered on the xp pc. In the firewall and network setting you have to enable printer and file sharing on both pc's. The only negative thingy about this setup is that the pc where the printer is connected to, has to be turned on if you want to print from the other pc.
The main problem here is that the printer is not a wireless printer.
But you can install the printer wirelessly through a wirelss printing upgrade kit, refer the link bellow:

Eeeeek. But the issue is i cant even get into the like place where i would start to connect the printer to the lap top :( i have no idea what im doing in other words..
probably firewall which blocks the traffic? try to dissable the firewall and search again.
On your XP machine where the printer is connected, you need to make sure it is configured as a shared resource. Once that is done if your Vista machine can see the XP machine on the network, the shared printer should show up also. When you attempt to connect to it your Vista machine should ask for the drivers. At that point you will probably need the printer CD to complete the setup.
