Alright so I got this new laptop and it has Windows Vista on it.. and my other computer is just windows XP and i want to hook up the printer to this laptop so that i dont have to file transfer every single time i want to print something off. i have the network magic up and running but before when i tried to connect the printer it didnt work. Now i want to go back and do that but i TOTALLY forget how to start the old process ! HELPP!

On your XP machine where the printer is connected, you need to make sure it is configured as a shared resource. Once that is done if your Vista machine can see the XP machine on the network, the shared printer should show up also. When you attempt to connect to it your Vista machine should ask for the drivers. At that point you will probably need the printer CD to complete the setup.

You could also "Share" the printer. If you have a network of the 2 pc's. the printer stays connected trough usb prefered on the xp pc. In the firewall and network setting you have to enable printer and file sharing on both pc's. The only negative thingy about this setup is that the pc where the printer is connected to, has to be turned on if you want to print from the other pc.

The main problem here is that the printer is not a wireless printer.
But you can install the printer wirelessly through a wirelss printing upgrade kit, refer the link bellow:

I have it connected to my desk and I just bought a Lap top, so how do I get my documents transmitted to the printer wireless.

If you have a wireless printer and you also will need a wireless router like Linksys, and setup a wifi within your home, then you can install the software from the printer and install the drivers and it so guide you through the software to link you laptop to your printer, if you already have the wireless router then you will have even less tasks to complete, when I installed my wireless printer it specified that I should not connect any cables to the printer and run both computers wirelessly, I would highly recommend that you use this method, with the one computer linked to the printer you may not be able to get the outside connection to work from your laptop, if I can be any more assistant please let me know? I have three lap tops using network router. When I try to scan it only gives my sons lap top as its destination. How do I add me and my wifes to the option window?

Your quest is confusing. You need to install the printer in all your laptops in order to do a print job.If you want to scan a job from each laps all need to be with the printer wireless configuration.

Trying to connect desk top computer and lap top computer

There is only two ways to possibly connect both the desktop and the laptop in the network. That is to purchase a router so you can connect them both or a route with a wireless and then the laptop (Which most new ones have a wireless capability installed) can connect wireless from anywhere in the home. If you already have a Cable or DSL Modem it may have a wireless capability. Otherwise you would have to get a wireless modem. Hope this helps. Bud

New vista windows working with a wireless routerand a new laptop

Well if you want the prints to go through the router and into the printer First, set the printer up for sharing by going to printers and faxes right clicking on the printer choose Sharing Choose share this printer and give it a name, then might have to get a wireless usb for the desktop at a local Wal-mart and the laptop should have wireless, when you get that stuff connect to the wireless network, go to start, printers and faxes, in the left side toward the top you will see a link saying add printer, let the wizard start hit next, choose the bubble beside A network printer, then hit next choose browse for printer hit next it will say searching for printer wait till a list of printers come up and choose the one you want the computers to use.
