Completely remove the top thread from the machine. ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot and rethread from the beginning. Verify the top thread follows the correct thread path and that the thread is not wrapped around the spool pin or a thread guide. Install a new and bigger needle. Try a different brand of thread. AVOID old or bargain bin thread. Decrease the top thread tension. Try it on different fabric. If it continues, open the bobbin area and handturn the handwheel and watch what happens with the thread. You may be able to see where the problem is. The top thread could be catching on a burr under the needleplate or wrapping around something in the bobbin area, etc.
Clean out the bobbin area thorougly. The bobbin must be the right size. If it is too tall it will cause the thread to wrap around the bobbin. Make sure you insert the bobbin and check to see if it is higher than the bobbin.
increase the needle thread tension up a bit as it is too loose to pull the bobbin thread up properly
keep adjusting until both threads are at the middle of the materials being sewn
try changing the needle check to make sure the top thread has not come off the thread take up lever it could also be a problem with the timing and the machine would have to be checked by a technican
I assume you are placing the bobbin at the TOP of the machine, then wrapping the end of the thread several times around the bobbin in a counter-clockwise motion? Have you made sure to "scoot" the empty bobbin next to the bobbin bar to the right? Is the thread going from your spool, directly TO the bobbin? Because it is supposed to wrap around the tension "nut" (where you start to thread your machine) before going to the bobbin.
Make sure the bobbin is pushed all the way onto the post and that the thread is running through the tensioner on top of the machine above the needle area.
If I remember correctly this machine has a little arm in the bobbin case area. You will need to open the slide plate, move that arm towards the middle of the bobbin. Thread your machine as normal, take the thread going through the needle eye and wrap it around the thumb screw a couple times, then start "sewing" your bobbin should begin filling, once started, you can release the thread wrapped around the thumbscrew. Once filled, you simply close the slide plate and that moves the arm back into place and start sewing.
IT PROBABLY IS THREADED INCORRECTLY. GO SLOWLY BY THE DIAPHRAGM AND MAKE SURE IT IS THREADED CORRECTLY. ALSO MAKE SURE SPOOL PIN HOLDERS ARE IN PLACE THAT HELPS TO GUIDE THE THREAD CORRECTLY.
