There are several reasons for Error 6000 to appear, including a paper jam, an improperly seated ink tank, and more.
An ink cartridge isn't seated properly
Remove the ink cartridges and reseat them
Paper is jammed or there is an object inside the printer.
Inspect the printer to confirm there is no remaining paper from a paper jam and that there are no foreign objects inside your machine
The printer needs to be reset.
Press the Power button to turn off the printer.
Disconnect the data cable from the printer (not applicable to Wi-Fi®, Bluetooth® or Infrared).
Unplug the printer power cord for approximately 10 minutes, and then plug it back in.
If the power cord is plugged into a surge protector, it may be necessary (for testing purposes) to plug the cord directly into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the data cable (not applicable to Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or Infrared).
Press Power to turn the printer back on, then try printing again.
If the printer still doesn't work correctly, and the carriage is accessible, remove and replace the ink. Please repeat the steps above.
This May Help,
Peter
I think the 6A00 is a mechanism jam code.
There is a device that slides back n forth and acts like a window cleaners squeegie on the printhead. This mechanism seemed to be stuck at its full extention rather than being back at home base. It gets blocked up with drying ink and that had acted like a glue holding it. This has to be released in order to move the print head. If you are a technical head then attempt it otherwise take it to a Canon technician.
It is my pleasure to guide you.
I have done some extensive research on your 'error 6C10'.
I have looked at the following:

I realize that the '6C00' error is not exactly your but the manual does not have the 6C10. You can download that at the above link.
I also look at the http://www.retrevo.com/support/Canon-MP500-Multifunction-Printers-manual/id/259bh640/t/2/ Canon Pixma MP500 Users Guide Manual. There are several codes but not the 6C10. You can download this above as well.
Good luck and please post back that you are successful, giving thumbs up, or if I can be more helpful.
