Whirpool WFW8500 drain pump is not working. When the cycle calls for the tub to drain I get a clicking sound that comes from the drain pump but now water drains from the tub. In some cases the pump just stops. I called a service tech and they said either the drain pump was bad or one of the mother boards needed replacing.

SOURCE: whirlpool duet sport wfw8300sw00 f-21 error

Unplug the machine. Unscrew the 3 screws under the front edge of the washer. The service technician manual is attached to the panel that slides down and off. Find F21 code. See suggested procedures. Note: My drain pump filter had a baby wash cloth in it along with some change that was disrupting the flow. It is exceptionally easy to remove, clean, and reinstall. Just line up installation notches when reinstalling. Whirlpool should have mentioned this filter in the User & Care Guide, but I could not find it anywhere in there.

I Maytag centennial it finish it cycle but it still sounds like the water is draining

If your Maytag Centennial washing machine is making a sound like it's draining water even though there's no water in the tub, it could be an issue with the drain pump. The drain pump is responsible for removing water from the machine during the spin cycle.
Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
  1. Unplug the washing machine and remove any remaining water from the tub manually.
  2. Check the drain hose for any kinks or blockages. If you find any, clear them out.
  3. Remove the drain pump from the washing machine and check for any clogs or damage. If you find any, clean or replace the pump as needed.
  4. Reinstall the drain pump and run the washing machine to see if the issue has been resolved.
If these steps do not solve the problem, it may be necessary to call a professional repair technician to diagnose and fix the issue.

My machine stops working after the rinse cycle and won't go into the spin cycle. The water stays in the tub and will not drain. I have unplugged and replugged the machine just to make sure. I wanted to see...

It sounds like the Drain pump may have stopped working. After the rinse cycle, the machine should drain the water and start spinning. The Drain Pump should be at the bottom of the machine.

Clothes are coming out wet after going through the extra spinning cycle. When trying to make another cycle, the machine was making a strange noise.

Hi,
There is a water pump in the machine which pumps the water out of the outer tub and into the drain, after the wash and rinse cycles. It is possible that this pump isn't working properly. I think if it weren't working at all, you wouldn't be able to get beyond the wash cycle. It has been my experience that small articles of clothing may get washed or spun out of the inner tub and into the area around the pump pick up, thus partially blocking the flow to the pump. It's also possible that the drain hose from the pump to the drain may be partially clogged. It is also possible that the pump doesn't run sufficiently long to get all of the water out because its' motor gets hot and shuts down or because of a problem in the controls mechanism which manages the the starting and run time of the pump.
unplug the washer from the wall outlet and probe under the inner tub, or possibly remove the tub to see that there is no blockage from clothing. It's also possible that things left in clothing pockets like paper clips, small plastic items, etc. can get into the pump and lock up the impeller. If you're sure it isn't blocked you can then run a "short cycle", no load and water only, and watch to see how much water comes out of the discharge hose where it's hung on the drain pipe. It should gush out, and tub should be free of standing water prior to the start of the first rinse cycle. If it does not, then you'll have to access the pump and clear it of obstructions or replace it, if defective. A fair handy man can get to pump either from the rear of the machine with back plate off, or by removing the cabinet cover from the frame, depending on the model of the the machine.

In short follow the instruction..
1) Lift the lid during the spin cycle. If the tub is not spinning, you may have a damaged motor coupler. Call a repairperson to replace this part.
2) If the tub is spinning, recheck the load to make sure it is balanced. If you are certain the load is balanced but your clothes are still wet, you may need to call a repairperson to replace a damaged motor pulley, tub bearing, belt, or clutch.
Or You may have a problem with your drain hose or pump.
1) Be sure the drain hose isn’t kinked.
2) Check the tab on the lid that strikes the lid switch; if it is broken, the washer may stop during the drain cycle. Press and release the lid switch. If it doesn’t click each time you do this, it’s probably broken. If you’re experienced at home repair, you can remove the switch, test it, and replace it if needed; otherwise, call an appliance repairperson.
3) The water pump may be broken or clogged with a small article of clothing, or the controls may be broken; call a repairperson.

I have a Bosch WVF 2401 the wash is coming out too wet the spin dryer is not extracting enough water out of the clothes - is there a filter I need to clean out?

If your clothes remain wet after your washer’s spin cycle, perform the following diagnostics:
1) Lift the lid during the spin cycle. If the tub is not spinning, you may have a damaged motor coupler. Call a repairperson to replace this part.
2) If the tub is spinning, recheck the load to make sure it is balanced. If you are certain the load is balanced but your clothes are still wet, you may need to call a repairperson to replace a damaged motor pulley, tub bearing, belt, or clutch.

Loud noise during washing/rinsing cycles

I just replaced the bearings on my Front loader Maytag MAH5500B, as it sounded like a freight train during the spin cycle. The bearing replacement fixed the train problem.

NEW PROBLEM NOW: It's been about a month now since the bearing job and now something is clicking/binding when you spin the back belt wheel. I have taken the belt off and carefully move the wheel and I still get this clicking noise. It sounds as if someone is hitting the plastic drum that the tub is surrounded by. I really doubt it's the bearings this soon, as the sound is not the same! No leaks or metal shavings to speak of or rubbing of the belt wheel.

Seems like it's more noticeable during the wash/rinse cycles then the spin.

Can anyone help.???

Whirlpool Cabrio WTW6600SW1: Won't drain

The washer drew half a tub of water on the "Bulky items" cycle, and stopped. All the lights on the cycle dial light up and flash, the machine beeps and the me error message in the "estimated time remaining" field is "Ld". I've tried to shut the machine down and change the cycle to "drain and spin" but it will not agitate, won't drain or spin.

Whirpool

I would say to worry about it , if its flooding your house , need to open washer front panel ,start a new wash cycle and take a look to see where the water is leaking from , sounds like a broken hose under the tub that connects to the DRAIN MOTOR PUMP , AND BETTER have it fix right away cause if its getting to the main motor it could damage it , hope it helps AJ

You,ve done a good job the first time the pump fail MikieM. You can do it again. We sometimes forget to empty our pocket. Some small metal things could have gotten into the pump...could be other hard foreign object. Good luck.
