Connected to wireless router with excellent signal may not means you are connected to internet. make sure your modem provided by internet service provider has signal! connect your computer to modem directly bypassing router. If you are online that means your internet is functional. Then connect modem to your Linksys router and use your wireless to log on to internet.
Your router wireless signal active and excellent means you are connected to router not necessarily the internet. The modem supplied by your internet service provider with active internet should be connected to you router on WAN port!
good luck!!

I am unable to go online. Signal strength through my router is excellent

1) Check if the network cables attached to your wireless routers are connected properly.
2) Check if the internet connectivity LED flashes, if not then there is an issue with your internet and you need to call your Internet service provider.

Hi, i have bought this netgear 108mbps wireless router WGT624, 2 weeeks ago, it was working good, but now suddenly it shows less mbps and when tried to restart it, now it not working, i mean it says in my...

I suggest try to check the netgear if it is connected to the internet. If the wirelss signal is good, it might be the internet connection is having some issue.
What you can try to do first is:
1.connect a computer to the netgear directly using an ethernet cable (RJ45)
2. click start then select run type cmd (It's a black screen)
3. type ipconfig/all then press enter on your keyboard
4. check the ip address it should be 192.168.X.X and the default gateway is 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 depending on the router default ip address
5. on the black screen type ping yahoo.com then enter on the key board
*if there is a "reply from" message it means there is an internet connection going in the router and you need to configure the router. *If the message is "unable to detect" or "request timed out". You need to contact you Internet Service Provider for assistance.

My computer says I have an excellent signal, but then I am not able to connect to the Internet. Please help!

You're connected to the router itself, but is the router connected to internet?!
ping out 208.67.222.222 (OpenDNS) and check it.
If it pings, you've something wrong in DNS
if it don't, enter in the router management page and check internet status.

Trouble with Linksys Wireless Router

Try unplugging both the modem and the router. count to 15 then plug back in and try.
Keep in mind also that some routers dont connect 100% till you open a browser, weird but I have had similar problems.
It sounds like you may have problems at both ends.
Several things come to my mind;
make sure you shut down ALL programs in the background.

you are trying to problem solve by elimination, so close anything that may connect to the internet and take away that variable.

scan for spyware etc.

do a registry clean, temp files cleanup etc.

sometimes restarting the pc can help
good luck

Belkin Mimo Router

If you're connected to the router with excellent stregth then the problem most likly lies in the routers connection to the internet. Check your DSL, Cable modem and make sure the connection to the "Internet" port on your router is good. Try switching out the Ethernet cable if nessciary.
