Likely to be the air circulation fan, but having said that, my True glass fronted chiller had all the works in the top. Get a ladder out, remove the case, put a plastic tube in your ear and use it as a stethoscope to trace the noise.
Yours says 'Property of Coca Cola', so they should fix it.
tonnage is the measurement of cooling . there are 12000 B T U 's per ton so if you have a 3 ton unit you will hav 36000 BTU's... all so a chiller make cold water which is then pumped thru a building to cool.an air conditioner cools directly.
there is no motor that is single phase with 415 volts only 240 volt or 120volt and you cannot use a 3 phase motor on single phase it will just fail to start buzz and burn it up .single phase motors have capacitors 3 phase motors do not
From what I found, 480 volt, 3-phase is 480 volts from leg to leg.
It is also 277 volts from each leg to neutral.
One can use a step down transformer to reduce the 480, 3-phase to 208 v, 3-phase and then each leg of the transformed voltage would be 120 volts to neutral. Try to locate the transformer in or near the chiller control cabinet.
If the unit is single phasing this is not good for the compressor. Does the system have a phase monitor? If not I would suggest you put one in to save thousands of dollars on the replacement of the compressor. How is the oil level? I ask because this are not to run themselves out of oil.
