Anonymous Posted on Oct 01, 2011

Liftmaster Model 1265-67 stopped working with the remote after I repleaced the drive gear. Nothing was changed but now the unitl opens and closes perfectly with the wall switch but I can't get the remote to program. I changed the battery in the remote and can not get the control to recognize the remote. Any ideas?????

Thank you for your reply. I had to replace the logic board. I unplugged the unit but I must have damaged it in some way. Once the logic board was replaced the remote works as it should. Thank you for your suggestion and I really appreciate it.
Also the guy locally here gave me great help (Sandhills Overhead Door, Sanford, NC) You can change the drive gear and never even have to take the chain off. If anyone needs help with this let me know.

Make sure the light in the wall control isn't blinking. That would be an indication that the lock function is on. To turn it off, press and hold the lock button for 3 seconds.

Door opens about 10-12" then stops. Hit remote and

First check your door springs and then remove the cover from the motor unit and check the drive gear. It is white nylon and will be obvious if it is bad. The part number is 41A2817.

LiftMaster garage door opener won't open. When push button (from either remote or "door-bell" style button on wall), unit makes a slight humming sound for a couple of seconds, then nothing...?

Check the door springs and also the drive gear. The gear is a white nylon gear just in front of the motor unit. It will be pretty obvious if it is going bad. The door spring may be broken.

Garage door only raises about two inches then stops.

Check the door springs and also remove the cover from the motor unit and check the drive gear. The door spring could be broken or the drive gear may be stripped.

The sensors only work when the door is closing.

Liftmaster 1/2 HP Garage Door opener won't open or close. Has been working fine until I pulled out this morning. The door will move freely if I disengage from opener. Went up ladder to see chain not...

The shaft on these garage door motors are not direct drive systems. You'll have to open up the box to see what the actual problem is. I have had stuff like this happen where a gear just slipped out of place.

Here is a link for a parts supplier. I don't know your model but it looks like most of the Liftmaster worm screw gears and drive gears are plastic so it's possible that one of them has cracked.

I have two liftmaster's model 2500 one will not

I have the very same problem. I have 2 Liftmaster 2500, 1/2HP openers installed in a 2 car garage. They are merely 15 feet apart in my garage ceiling. About 15months ago one stopped working by only the remotes. Went through the process of reprogramming the good one 1st and replaced batteries in the remotes, then trying to reprogram the one not working. Checked for radio interference near the one not working no LED or Halogen Lights, no wall tarnsformers, no cell phone interference etc... Nothing worked to on the 2nd
opener in trying to get the remotes working again.
I then purchased a New Logic Board, part number 41A5507-B. It was about $70 and then installed it in the 2nd opener which is not working. Tried to get the remotes programed - still nothing? I was baffled. I called Liftmaster - the only suggestion they gave me was was to totally unplug the GOOD opener and try the reprogramming up close to the 2nd door opener that's not been working. SURE enough - the Opener Remotes "Learned" okay and started working! Liftmaster Help line indicated that the thought to be GOOD opener actual had the defective Logic board and it was over powering the signal from the 2nd opener which was not working. I'll be taking the New Logic board and replacing it in the 1st opener.
Thank you Liftmaster for the help !

Door goes up about a foot and stops

The sensors have nothing to do with your door opening. First thing to check are the door springs. One may be broken. Next remove the cover and check the drive gear. It is a white nylon gear just in front of the motor. It may be stripped.

Hod do I align the sensor lights?

Your problem is not with the safety eyes. You have a stripped gear inside the opener. Take off the cover and you will have white shavings in the bottom of the cover. You can repair this with a liftmaster gear and sprocket kit.
