Make sure the thread on the bobbin is wound correctly. If it is incorrectly wound then it will cause the thread to break as well.

Try a new needle, making sure it is put in properly. A bent needle can break thread. Make sure top tension is set properly.

SOURCE: Bobbin thread breaks

Things to check for thread breakage (top or bottom)

1. Good thread in the machine - not hand thread, cheap thread, quilting thread.
2. A burr on the hook - a small nick on the hook can grab and tear threads, however this usually causes the top thread to tear, not the bottom
3. Make sure a new needle is in the machine - one made for the material you are sewing
4. The bobbin must be installed to rotate in the correct direction in your bobbin case
5. And I'll say it anyway - tensions - the primary cause of thread breaking - Remember, there are TWO tensions in a sewing machine, top and bottom. Also, the thread you see on the bottom of the stitch is the top thread, and vice-versa.

The top of the machine is not threaded correctly. First raise the presserfot then rethread the machine. Bottom looping is usually caused by a lack of top tension. There could allso be a bur on the hook.

How do i fix the top thread just tangling, looping on the shutter race?

1. Make sure that you are using the right bobbin case. (LX3125) 2. Adjust the tension of the bobbin case. (I've sent a guide for this) Your's is considered the older style.
3. Make sure the bobbin that is used is the right one. If it is too long or too wide it will cause problems.
4. When you insert the bobbin case make sure the lock handle goes down flat with the bobbin case. Also, feel the bobbin case for rough snags.
5. Replace the needle. Insert it the new one in the right direction.
6. Thread the machine (while pressure foot up) according to the directions. While threading give small tugs to check for snags.
7. Place the tension on four. It is ok to feel by hand if this is excess tension.
8. While turning the hand wheel towards you the bobbin thread should rise above the throat plate.
9. This should be ok now. Try it on some old rags. Don't forget to set that bobbin case.

How to fix the tangling of top thread on bobbin race.?

1. There are many bobbin cases. Make sure the right one is installed. Also, once you have it installed check the handle of the bobbin case to make sure it is going flat with the bobbin case.
2. Check the bobbin you are using. If it is too long it will protrude the length of the bobbin case. It must be able to spin freely.
3. Check the bobbin case on the outside for any rough edges that could hang up on thread.
4. The bobbin tension should be checked. I've attached a guide for this. Your's is the older style.
5. Make sure the top is threaded properly. Especially make sure the thread is going through the thread in the right direction.

Why is the thread a line on bottom of fabric?

Clean the bobbin case and all the parts under the plate. You may have a bent needle, so replace the needle. The bobbin case has a tiny point on it that catches the thread, that may be broken and missing the thread as it spins.

Needle does not reach bobbin to to pull bobbin thread on surface

Sewing machine needles are specific to each model. If the needles are not for your model they could be too short or too thick so that they don't sit in the shank correctly. Check your user manual or Mr Google could help.

My bottom thread tension is really loose how do i fix this problem

try adjusting the top tension try 3 to 5
also try another bobbin just incase the bobbin could be warped
also try using a new needle--if it's a new needle with a flat side- the flat side goes to the back of the machine,, if it's a round needle then the groove in the needle should face away from the shaft

Top thread from spool somehow gets out of the needle when sewing. Sometimes top thread breaks; other times it just escapes the needle. I redid threading from top and from bobbin to see if that would fix....

Try loosening the tension and pulling a longer string of thread. Also, if the needle is not at the highest point, when you start sewing, the thread will pull out.

My needle does not stay threaded on my Brother Lx 3125 (the top thread) it keeps coming out of the needle while stitching. How can I fix this?

keep a thread tail of 3-5 inches & when you sew make sure the thread is pulled behind the needle each time you sew, even if you have to hold the thread tail with your fingers
