Amp never shuts off and protect light will come on when turned up

Just to make sure I understand you, when the protect mode turns on the amp still stays on? If so my guess would be that you are pushing the subs so hard that the amp is just starting to clip (distort) because you are pushing either the amp or the subs or amp and subs to their limits. Clipping is not a good thing, but at the same time it usually sounds the best just before clipping. You may need larger gauge wire or a capacitor to help the amp get higher voltage. I will post a link on clipping.

I'm not sure this is your problem just my guess.

Hope this helps.

The protection lite comes on when amp is given powerand sometimes it does not come on but it is still not getting any sound its not my wires they all work for any other amp tell me is my amp fried

Disconnect all speaker connections and rca cables. Leave power, ground and remote wires intact. Try turning on again. If you still have a protection light your amp is faulty. Sounds like you are overloading the amp. Please check speakers impedance. .A thumbs up would be greatly appreciated if this answer is helpful to you

My Yamaha P4500 burned my speakers rated 500 watts. The clip lite did not lit, so I pressumed it is operating normally

Chances are your speakers were "fake rated" as are most consumer quality speakers.

Unless the speakers were rated for CONTINUOUS power at 500 watts each you could easily destroy them with that amp.

Check the DC bias out of the amp. If it is under a volt, your speakers were fake rated.

This fake rating is to sell speakers and depends upon average music programing that does not have continuous high level.

Get professional speakers in MATCHED cabinets that have CONTINUOUS pwer ratings above what the amp can produce. ALSO suggest you put fuses in your speaker leads to protect the speakers.
WITHOUT proper cabinets, the speakers can be blown.

You should probably get a sound level meter to check that you are not damaging your ears. No fun in later life requiring expensive hearing aids! There are professional quality meters for about $140 on eBay.

Protection lite and over current lite stay on

Sounds like a problem with the coils. Coils are known to short-out during periods of high-use. This happens when the insulation between wires break down and allow for a path of lower resistance for the current to travel. If this is the problem, you'll have to replace the coils in the amp which is a weekend job, but completely do-able. Hope this helps

LA-1030 Protect Mode

you have an unloaded channel,so the voltage is exceeding what the protect circuit is supposed to see.you have to connect an 8 ohm resistor across the output of the unused channel.
do not drive a signal into it or you will smoke the resistor.
a 10 watt will do ok with zero signal input

My amp

It sounds like the amplifier has shorted output transistors. The clip indicator may be on because the output is equal to the rail voltage. The amp is probably going into overcurrent protection when the drive circuit engages. The amp will have to be repaired. If I'm not mistaken, this amp uses the dlogixs modules. Since the modules are not readily available, you may have to send it to an authorized service center or back to LA sound.

Clipping amp

hi first disconnect all spks, then turn on the amp. if amp power lite stays on bright then proceed to connect one speaker or sub to the amp. if the amp lite dims during any spk connections then it may be that the spk is faulty or there is a DC voltage (dc offset) emitting thru that particular channel. also check all spk impedance before reconnecting them to the amp. cheers.
