My Sears 1/2 hp pn 41A4315-6D won't open using the remotes. I tried reprogramming them with new batteries;didn't work. The electrical wall control opens & closes the door ok. Note: When trying to reprogram the lighton the unit won't blink.

Sounds like your receiver has quit working. To program the remotes do this: Press
and hold the button on the remote while you press and immediately
release the smart/learn button. Do this for each remote. If this doesn't
work your logic board is bad.
If the wall button will operate the door up but none of the devices do then look at the wall button. Find the lock button and push it for 2 seconds and then try the remotes again. This is your vacation lock. You can get a manual at chamberlain.com. Now if the door does not open or close with the remotes you can reprogram them. Press the colored learn button on the motor head and then press the button on the remote. Repeat for each remote. If they fail to program you will need a new logic board. Thanks BB
Hi,
You can try reprogramming the remotes to the opener that is not working. Sometimes they get a brain freeze and drop the codes and reprogramming can fix it. Next to where the wire hangs down will be a colored square button (the learn button) press once and release, you have 30 seconds to try and program a remote, you don't need to do all in the 30 seconds. Press and hold the button on your remote that you want to use until you see the light on the opener blink or hear a click sound from opener, let go of the button. it should now be programmed. If you can't get any of them to work then the logic board is bad. This repair can cost as much as a new opener + install. Sears sells a "remote control conversion kit" it comes with 1 remote and a plug in receiver you attach to your existing opener. 2 wires come off it and hooks up where your wall control hooks up at the openr. It's pretty easy to install. FYI the remote controls are color coordinated meaning the buttons on the remotes have to be the same color or they won't work, so if existing remotes are not the same color as the one in the kit they will most likely have to be replaced. good luck!
The remote and the keypad work through a signal sent to the receiver while the wall console, as you said it's wired directly to the opener, so it's likely that the receiver is shot. I'd try reprogramming the remote to just rule out the chance that all code wasn't erased first. (Press the learn button on the back of the operator head, stand back 5 feet and within 30 seconds slowly press the remote button a few times to see if it operates the opener). If this doesn't work, you can install an external LiftMaster universal receiver with the correct frequency and you should be good.
If there's a purple antenna hanging off the head, this is a 315 freq, use a 356LM, if black it's a 390 freq, use a 635LM receiver.
Then you'll have to reprogram your remote and keypad to the receiver.
Since there's also the issue with the light, there's also a possibility the circuit board got fried. Did you have any storms lately?
FIRST CHECK TO SEE IF THE LOCK/VACATION BUTTON ON THE WALL CONTROL HAS BEEN ACTIVATED. THE LED ON THE WALL CONTROL WILL BE FLASHING. - SIMPLE SOLUTION PUSH THE LOCK BUTTON AND HOLD FOR 2 SECONDS TO TURN OFF LOCK FUNCTION. SECOND TRY TO REPROGRAM THE REMOTES TO THE UNIT - THEY WILL SOMETIMES LOSE MEMORY IN AN ELECTRICAL STORM. IF REPROGRAMMING DOESN’T HELP TRY REPLACING THE BATTERIES IN THE REMOTES AND THEN REPROGRAM. HOPE THIS HELPS
Where is the logic board located? Can I purchase from Chamberlain?
Thanks
