RCA F32650 32" White lines with hazy white flickering

I have a RCA F32650 32" in which I just replaced the flyback transformer after having no picture and the high pitch squeal. I am now receiving a picture, but now there is white horizontal lines all down the screen and there is a white haze with some flickering. I adjusted the screen on the flyback which didn't do much more than making the picture more visable without affecting the white hazy lines. One thought I had was the horizontal transistor, but I wanted to get some other suggestions on other ideas.
Thanks!

Absolutely right about the transistor and also check any adjacent resistors to the transformer and to the line output transistor. Good luck.

We replaced the transformer for our RCA F27650. It was sparking and now it is not, but now the screen won't turn on. It is just black. We hookd all the wires up like they were. we can hear sound, but...

Hello
Along with the flyback transofrmer, its horizontal output transistor also must be replaced. I don't know whether you have replaced it or not. If not, replace it too. It can be located very near to the flyback transformer, a three terminal component, black in colour, usually screwed to a metal heatsink. Then switch on the TV and measure the video output voltage at the video output card pluged directly to the picture tube neck. The collector of the video aoutput transistors must come around 145VDC. If it also is there, advance the screen control on the flyback transformer to get a raster. If that voltage is not there, it means that the flyback transformer is not working, and horizontal oscillator stage should be checked for oscillation, check the lined drive transformer for its primary winding open, Check the entire horizontal oscillator section. The collector point of the line drive transistor, the transistor that drives the line drive transformer, a small transformer soldered diretly to the printed circuit board; should be checked with frequency meter. The frequency at that point should come around 15525HZ approx: OK.

My RCA console tv has white horizontal lines accross screen, picture is very light and sound is ok, very frustrating. I know its an old tv, but appreciate any response. Thanks

Cold solder joints on the flyback transformer circuit board - probably because RCA used feed-thru steel rivets on their boards. Re-solder the connections using a good solder flux for clean solder joints and this will fix prob. The joints with the dull, pitted finish are the problem joints.

My color wheel went out on mine and it looks to be the same on yours'. RCA cannot find a replacement for my model and there are none available on an on-line search. RCA may end up replacing my set.

Flyback transformer on television

Single white line across screen mean a vertical colapse. So you will need the vertical output and maybe a cap around 100uf@50v.

Tv help!

When you have the back off, look for the flyback (high voltage) transformer. This is the part that has the thick red wire protruding from its top which attaches to the top of the picture tube with a suction cup. On the flyback there are 2 controls, the bottom one is screen and the top one is focus. Turn the bottom control (screen) down (counterclockwise) until the white lines go away and the brightness looks normal. Then turn the top control (focus) until the picture is nice and sharp. If the F connector has been pulled out and the TV has RCA (red, white, yellow) jacks, use those jacks and set the TV to INPUT.
