Hi, it sounds like your printer cannot translate the the graphics being sent from your computer. It may be that one of your printer settings is not set correctly. Or, it may be as simple a solution as updating your driver for your printer. Try here for a driver for Laserjet P2055D:

Power off printer, wait at least 30 seconds and power it on. Make sure that the printer is not on a surge protector. It should be plugged directly into a wall outlet. If this doesn't help, you are probably looking at a replacement laser/scanner assembly.
