Re: Get error 323 - restore the factory defaults for your...
Once you've reset it to factory defaults, you'll probably need to establish your initial connection to it using a Cat 5 cable - possibly crossover. Then you can visit it's internal web page (address in manual) to enable WiFi, etc.

How to View or Change Your Wireless Network Password
Symptoms:
You have lost or forgotten the password to your wireless network You have lost or forgotten the password for the router, access point or other network device You left the default password or used a weak password and someone has hijacked your network
Depending on the router, you can either view or reset the wireless network password (also referred to as the passphrase or security key) if you can log into the router. Some routers mask the wireless network password, so while you cannot recover it, you can enter and save a new password.
If you cannot log into your router because you have forgotten the router password or your network has been hijacked, please refer to "Lost or forgotten password for router or other device" below.
To view or reset a wireless network password:
Launch your Internet browser and type http://www.routerlogin.net in or http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 the address field for your browser. Enter the router's username and password. The default username is admin, the default password is password. From the left-hand navigation menu of the Router administration interface, select Set Up > Wireless Settings Note: On some routers this option will be under BASIC > Wireless. From the center screen, you find the current wireless security settings under the Security Options heading.
If the wireless network passphrase is visible, review it and use it to log devices onto your network. If it is not visible, you can change your wireless passphrase; however, changing the passphrase will cause you to lose your wireless connection. Connect your computer to the router with an Ethernet cable before entering a new passphrase into the text box and clicking Apply.
Read more about Securing your Wireless Network. If you cannot log into your router:
- If you were routed to the NETGEAR website or getting the "Page cannot be displayed" message when trying to login to router, make sure you are connected to the NETGEAR router. Check your wired connection and make sure cable is securely plugged in and LED is on. If wireless adapter is on, make sure you are NOT connected on a different wireless network.
- Unfortunately, there is no way to recover a lost or forgotten password from a router or access point; you will need to reset the device to factory defaults. However, once the device is reset to factory defaults, you can use the default access information to reconfigure your router settings. NOTE: Restoring factory defaults on a device will erase any customizations you have made. You will lose any configurations saved to the device!

Well, if you never set one, then it would be blank. If you forgot to write it down or lost the password, the simplest way to get the router password is to log into the router configuration, by typing the gateway into the address bar of your web browser (if you don't know the gateway open up command prompt (start --> run -->cmd --> press "enter") then type in "ipconfig /all" (no quotes) and scroll down until u see "default gateway: 192.168.something.something). Then log into your router with the user-name and password you used to set it up (the default user-names and passwords can be found here, for linksys it is usually a blank username and then "admin" (without quotes) as a password). Click on the wireless tab and then look through the pages for allt he tabs until u find the password (should be on either basic wireless setting or wireless security).
Good luck, message me if you have any questions/problems
Hi there... I dont get wat you mean by PIN... Is it WEP key your refering too? Well as you said it is supposedly the 10 digits on the modem.. If your unable to connect, then the possibilities are that the modems default wep key has been changed. To reset this key you will have to access the gateway thru
192.168.1.254 or gateway.2wire.net - click on wireless settings and from there scroll down and you will be able to see the buttons where it is marked as use default encryption key or use custom key passphrase. Click on use default encrpytion key , scroll down and click save settings. Now note at this point of time when you click save , whichever wireless devices which were or could connect to the modem when it was in " use custom key passphrase" cant be connected anymore. All the devices must be reconfigured to the default wep key which can be found on your modem which is a 10 digit n numbers.
2nd choice.
You access the modems gateway page to reset the whole modem to factory default
Go to the http://gateway.2wire.net/mdc and you will be prompted for password. By default its 2wire. Once you have accesses in it, scroll down till you see Troubleshooting - then you can see resets. click on it and at the bottom you will see a radio button RESET - Resets your 2wire gateway to factory default. CLick on the reset, your modems power light will change to orange led after 3 secs from your click. and the orange led will be there for ard 10-15 secs. And your modem will boot back. And now its factory default. You need to do the necessary configurations depending on your ISP.
3rd choice
Reset button behind modem
Click the red reset button behind the modem and hold for 15 secs, the modem will be restored to factory default.
Pls note : I will not hold responsibility if any mishaps happens during this operation. All the above is done on YOUR SOLE RESPONSIBILITY. Thank you.
