I have sony kdf-50we655 TV.Its thermal fuse is blown. I got new fuse. I temporarily plugged in new fuse and TV works. I can not access old fuse to replace new fuse exactly at the same place. I opened top part, but it has only glass and screen. Do I have to remove chasis? I see only 3 brass screws, how many screws need to be removed for pulling out chasis?

SOURCE: SONY KDF-50WE655 Cooling Fan

There are three fans: 1)Cooling fan(on the optical block)part# 1-787-057-11 2)Ballast fan part# 1-787-081-11 3)Upper optics fan part# 1-787-460-11 Also make sure you don't have a noisey iris motor in the optical block (verify by adjusting the iris settings in the menu and see if the noise level changes)

SOURCE: wega KDF-50WE655 has purple spots, support says wega engine bad

I have over 10 years experience in electronic tech support.

I know this isn't what you want to hear, but the problem you've described sounds like one of the circuit boards that control the picture quality needs to be replaced. The cost of the board would likely be in excess of $200. There are usually several boards in a TV like that that control the picture and when one goes, you can get anything from lines in the picture to poor picture quality from blurriness. The main question is do you want to spend $1000 to fix a used TV?

I hope I've provided you useful assistance and that this information allows you to make an informed decision as to how to proceed from here. Please be sure to vote on my response. I hope I've earned a good rating from you today.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

With all due respect, you're asking the wrong people. Only Sony can tell you if you're too late but my experience has been that they're normally pretty fair with considering out of warranty goodwill repairs.
Ask Sony and if they can't help then come back and ask about your problem on FixYa.

I have a sony KDF-50we655 TV first the lamp when out, then I replaced that, now it will just turn off then on and this will continue till it stays off

If the stand by light is blinking 6 times, it is the "Thermal Fuse", cost is about $4.95 shipping could be $15.00, if you take it to a technician you will pay around $300.00. It is easy to do it but depends how patient and skilled you are. The thermal fuse burn out when your tv ventilation is defective due obstruction on the vent and ventilator, due dust, hair etc. Make sure you clean very well everything inside and out when replacing the thermal fuse. Please check with your manual about description depending of the light blinking and times blinking.

Yes. Be sure to push the new lamp housing all the way in until it's fully seated, and make sure you replace the access cover properly as well or the replacement lamp will not work.

6 flashes is a thermal fuse blown in the lamp chamber. If you are not familure with tv repair then you might want to leave it to a pro. but to get the right part number for the kit i need the model you have. If you want the kit part number post back.
