Simpson Harmony Nova electric oven heating problems (oven heats but no fan and light)

The Fan has ,in most cases, two functions - to maintain the oven temp and to clear any condensate or smoke coming from items being cooked. If your oven is over heating it could be the thermostat sensor faulty and giving a faulty reading to the fan. If you set you oven at 350F then sensors control the heat by kicking the heating elements off and in some models and makes the fan aids cool down. Make sure it is at a temperature that would trigger the fan to cool it down. It mostly relies on the regulation of the heating elements to control the temp. Only if it were to get hotter than the elements kicking off can control should the fan kick on. Not being at the site and actually seeing the stove it is hard to determine but if the fan is working every where else it should work when the oven is heating. Again check and see if there is a seperate sensor that monitors the temp of the over and triggers the fan. Not much help but that's where I would look first. Hope this was of some help.

Kitchenaid KUDS02FRSS0 dishwasher. Stops mid-cycle, sometimes wash, sometimes rinse, sometimes dry. Must restart 4-5-6 times to get it to finish. When finally done dishes are clean, hot & dry....

Hi Dennis.

If the dishwasher is hanging on in the middle of the cycle it is usually the heating system. If the temperature of the water is going up after filling, then the element may be working. The element is tested using a multi meter set on Ohms to read impedance across the heater element contacts. If impedance is infinity (open-off limit), then the element is gone. If the element is OK, then the bi-metal thermostat or the fuse must be replaced. The heating assembly is located at the base of the appliance, behind the kick panel.

Behind the kick panel you should also find the tech sheet illustrating how to run the diagnostic cycle for this model. Run a diagnostic cycle to confirm that the problem is with the heating system. Drain, water sensor and inlet problems sometimes may also result in cycle not finishing.

You can find parts and diagrams for your dishwasher in this page.

Regards.

Blinking clean light, will drain with cancel button, wont wash

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. If the clean light flashes, pauses, and then repeats. When the dishwasher doesn't sense a water temperature increase, it stops working and locks the functions (clean light flashes, all buttons are non responsive). It does this as a safety in case the element is broken and feeding electrical current into the water.

To resolve this you will have to reset the console. Do this by closing the door and press these buttons in sequence...

-high temp wash

-heated dry
-high temp wash
-heated dry

Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

Dryer won't heat

The back panel doesn't come off for service!!! Most heating and control components are available behind the kick panel below the main dryer door..
With electric dryers my normal train of thought in diagnostics is to start with source of power. Do I have 220 volts available at the terminal board where the electric cord is connected??? Quite often I find a blown fuse, etc to cause it to stop heating as the motor will run fine on 120 volts as thats all it requires, but the unit will not heat with out 220 volts to the element..
best of luck, and have fun,
ttfn

Next Step

Hi,

This machine was made by Whirlpool and the flashing clean light is a common error code for them.
If the clean light is the one flashing then your dishwasher could have a heater circuit problem (depending on the age) or this could simply just be water colder than it is used to getting.
Repeatedly press the Heated Dry and Hi-Temp Wash(scrub) which ever yours has untill all the LED lights come on, press cancel twice and try the dishwasher again making sure to run the water at the kitchen sink till it is hot before starting the dishwasher, if this trips and locks you have a problem with the heating element, or temp sensor.
Press the heated dry button followed by the normal cycle button, and then repeat once. You should see all of the lights come on for a second or two, and then the dishwasher will work again.
If you haven't already, take a look under the kick plate in front to see if there is a schematic tucked in there somewhere. Whirlpool has put their diagnostics for specific models on these.
I don't have the specific repair manual for you model.
So, if the above combination does not work here are two more that have worked for me.
HiTemp Wash + Air Dry + HiTemp Wash + Air Dry in less than 5 sec
or
Hi Temp Scrub/Scour + Air Dry + Hi Temp Scrub/Scour + Air Dry in less than 5 sec

Let me know, if you need further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

I start my dryer and it heats up for a few minutes but then the heat stops and my clothes don't dry. could this be my heataing element or the safety valve coils. I have a whirlpool model # LGR3624JQ1

It could be your thermostat that controls when the heat comes on. If your thermostat is going bad it may work initially but when it shuts off when the temp is high enough it may not kick back on. Whirlpool thermostats are generally easy to get to. Most models you have to take the back cover off they look like this picture. Make sure unit is unplugged when having the back cover open. Each component is normally between 12-20 dollars, and an easy test tells which one is bad normally. Most ones I have dealt with a multimeter will tell you going across their terminals if they are bad, if you hear the beep it's normally good. If no beep it's bad. simple. fcee806.jpg

Amana les60aw gets hot in dryer but clothes wont dry. cleaned out vent, shortend exhaust hose. noticed an orange glow coming from back vents when i turned it back on???

The orange glow is the heating element working. It mush have good air flow or the coil will burn out and stop heating. Also the thermal limit will stop the heat if to great. If you went all through the vent and the tubing is not smashed or flat check the outside vent for air circulation, if good try to dry a load of clothes. Are you sure your washer is spinning out well? Wet clothes take longer to dry.

Clean light flashing 7 times. Can't start the machine

The cleam light blinking means that the unit was not able to reach a proper heated wash cycle. Either your heating element failed orthe actual sump/pump motor system has failed. Check the element in the botton and see if it looks broken anywhere. If you can see a broken spot, you will k now that is the trouble.

Good Luck!

Clean light keeps blinking and I can't start a new cycle

Puppa, clear the fault by pressing the keys in this order: high temp scrb--air dry--high temp scrub--air dry. Or, depending on your model..Sani rinse--air dry--sani rinse--air dry. The dishwasher will enter the service mode. Let it do it's thing or advance it through it by pressing the start key. The fault came from the board not sensing a rise in the water temp. Make sure to run the hot water before starting the dishwasher. The heating element runs through the nuetral side of the door switch so make sure the d/w is level and the door switches are all making. The element itself could be at fault. Catriver...post back
