Whirlpool double oven model rbd305prboo. Display dimmed, went blank and then oven stopped working. I ordered new control panel, but don't know how to get to the control panel to replace it.

Atlanta...sounds like you may have a power supply problem or the panel is bad. Cut the power, open the unit up and see if there is a fuse in there or a reset. No good? Then replace the circuit board. They just, well, die sometime. Happened to my microwave. Some units may be available remanufactured. Look around on the web.

The display sits on a circuit board. Pull the board out and replace capacitor C3. It is 68 micro farads. I used a 47 from Radio Shack and it works great. If you can find a 68, that would be ok too, of course!

You can replace only the C3 - it is 68uF / 35V and you can go to Radio Shack and get their part # 272-1028 - 100uF/35V one. It takes all but 10 minutes to re-solder the new one in place
