My Haier dehumidifier is harly removing any moisture from the air. It appears to run normally and I have cleaned the filter regularly. I've owned it about a year and it is model HD456E. It worked very well (though a bit noisy) for about a year when I notided very little water in the bucket after being on overnight, though it was still quite humid.

If the evaporator coils behind the filters become too dirty condensation can be seriously ********. Check to see if the fins require any attention; they can be cleaned very carefully with a toothbrush and some water usually. If the buildup has become severe special chemicals need to be used on the unit- not something recommended the average person attempt. If the fins are clear check other airflow issues. Dehumidifiers generally need a period of 3 days to balance an area properly when functioning and sized appropriately.

Esco Oasis 2700L dehumidifier ices up. Is there a filter to be cleaned and if so, how to I get to it?

Hi,

The most common cause of frost and ice buildup on a dehumidifier is because the unit is operating in temperatures that are too cold. Many dehumidifiers are not equipped to run at temperatures below 65 degrees Fahrenheit.
To fix this problem, Position the dehumidifier in an area where there is at least one foot of clearance around the unit in order to allow for proper air circulation during its operation. Close all windows, doors and other outside openings to make sure your unit isn't attempting to remove moisture from areas outside of the immediate room. Determine the temperature of the room by checking a nearby thermostat or by using a hand-held thermometer.

Check the filter for dirt and buildup. Unplug the unit from the electrical source and check the filter by opening the filter compartment. If the filter is dirty, it will restrict airflow through the unit and lead to freezing. Soleus recommends lightly vacuuming the surface of the filter to remove dirt. The filter also can be washed in warm water if it is extremely dirty. Once clean, place the filter back in its compartment. Allow for the ice to melt and then restart your dehumidifier.

Haier model hdn455 serial number 05021110 it runs but has never taken a drop of water out of the air, so it just keeps running

The problem, may very well be, that the humidity extraction level is set too high. Lower it to 35% and see what happens. Keep in mind, the lower the percentage of the moisture/humidity setting, the more it extracts from the household air. The higher the setting, the less it extracts from the household air.

Also, remove and check the air intake filter to see if that needs to be cleaned. It should be cleaned at least twice a week during the operating season.

Hope this helped you troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

My dehumidifer is not drawing any water, but the fan continues to run.

There are several reasons this may be happening. The 2 primary reasons are the humidity extraction level is set to high. Lower it to 35% . The lower the setting, the more moisture/humidity is extracted from the air. The higher the setting, the less if any moisture. humidity will be extracted from the air.
On most humidifiers the fan runs almost constantly while in operation. The idea is to continually move the air around and when the unit senses a rise in humidity, above what you have it set on, the compressor will turn ON to extract that humidity.

The 2nd thing that causes the problem is a dirty of clogged intake air filter. Which is easily solved by removing and cleaning the filter. Which should be done at least every 2 weeks, while the dehumidifier is in operation.

I said there were 2 reasons. Actually, there is a 3rd. Not enough clear air space all around the dehumidifier. A minimum of 12" should be maintained during operation.

Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

Dehumidifier running but no water coming in bucket. it's at 76 humidity. only 2 years old..how do i get it to work right

If you brief description of the problem is correct, you need to turn the humidity/moisture extraction percentage down to 35% and check and clean the air intake filter. Maintain a minimum of one foot air space clearance around the entire dehumidifier and be sure that all exterior doors and windows are closed. DO NOT attempt to remove and clean the filter with the unit ON and plugged in to the wall outlet.

Hope this helps you troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

The motor runs but no water collects in the bucket. olfi've had it running for hours.. please help. it's only 13 mod p

mempandora, the humidity level that you set on the unit may be to high. In which case the unit will only maintain that level, rather than remove any moisture/humidity. Lower the setting to 35% or minimal, if your unit does not have an LED display. In addition, the air intake filter probably needs cleaning and the coolant coils need to be wiped down and cleaned. The latter is the only part that will require some partial dismantling of the dehumidifier's cabinet. Also, it is imperative, to maintain a minimum of 12" clear air space all around the unit. And finally, the ambient air temperature at floor level may be affecting the operation. If the temperature is between 40 & 60 degrees F, the unit struggles to sense humidity. This is particularly true in a basement. As, the air at the floor is colder than the air temperature.

I hope this helps you to troubleshoot and solve the problem.

Dehumidifier does not see to be collecting water, fan is running but no water from hose

It very well maybe, that you have the humidity removal set to high and it's not sensing any humidity to remove. For example, if you have it set on 65 - 70%, that's not how much humidity it's going to remove. It's the level of humidity it's going to maintain in your home. To remove moisture/humidity, the setting should be low, like 45%. As far as the fan running ... many units are designed that way, in an effort to help keep the air circulating and also to defrost the cools.

If you want to test the unit, to see if it's working properly. Place the dehumidifier in the bathroom and set it at 50%. Turn the shower ON and let it run for 20 minutes with the bathroom door closed and without the exhaust fan running. And check on it after 20 minutes. More than likely, there' will be water in the bucket.

Also, there's routine maintenance that should be performed regularly. Clean the air intake filter, clean and wipe off the the compressor coolant coils, and check for clogs in the drain line of the unit.

Hope this helps you troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

Try setting you temperature or fan speed lower this may help.
In order for the unit to remove moisture the coil has to be below the dewpoint.
