My Pfaff 1471 lights up, but does not run. This model has no fuse. I checked the foot pedal with an ohm meter, & it sends a variable signal. My house took a direct lightning strike 2 weeks ago, & I believe the Pfaff stopped working at that time. I took it apart, & checked the PC board, & it looks fine (no burnt circuits, or popped capacitors) I checked & see 120V AC at the transformer. But I don't know what to check at the outputs of the transformer....what type of Voltage should I be seeing there? Also, what else can I test on the circuit board? Where can I jumper the main motor to see if that runs? What kind of voltage does the motor operate on? (12V, or 24V or what?) Can you walk me thru some diagnostics? I have pics I can supply of the PC Board. Thanks. Al

Were the base plate pugs into the power leads, you should read about 6-18 is ohms. Open and short is a bad transformer.

Also there are fuses, 2-3 right next to the transformer, small blueish and round are the shapes. They go bad often.

PFAFF creative 1471-sewing foot?

It's not the foot, it is the 'Feed Dogs', the teeth in the base that pull the material UNDER the foot. The most likely reason is that you have lowered them too much, or set it to 'embroidery'.

I have a pfaff model 1471 sewing machine. Keeps on running when the foot pedal is plugged in.tried to change the foot pedal but still the same issue

the pedal itself is a variable resistor so lets assume if you changed it that wasnt the problem. so dig deeper into where its plugged in and follow the wiring to find the problem

Foot pedal doesn't work after replacing batteries

The circuit board has a very small fuse that could have blown. Your dealer will need to look at it. The older Pfaff computerized models like the 1471, 1473 and 1475 had a small fuse on the circuit board that could be replaced for considerably less than replacing the entire circuit board but I'm not sure if this is the case with the 7550.
