That sounds very easy! How do you partition and how do you update it?

I have the manual for the Clarion NX501, but it does not tell HOW to set clock.

Page 51 of the manual, under General Setup Menu, is Clock.
Here is where you set time, AM/PM, or 12/24 hour clock,

I have a Clarion 501NX. The Navigation will not work. Was a micro chip supposed to come with it. I looked in the door and no chip was inserted in it. The unit came with a motorhome that I just bought

The small slot is for a MicroSD (storage) card which is not required to be used for operation. I have no experience with this model but here is the link to the 160-page manual which you likely don't have. This may provide enough detail to resolve your problem.

I am having problems with the nx501e searching for GPS receivers but doesn't find anything

I suggest contacting the folks you bought the maps from. Or, the clarion factory site.

Clarion nx501 with hino and password

i hAVE the same exact issue and the 4 digit password to unlock it is the last 4 numbers the HINO trucks V.I.N... they say u only get 3 tries and it locks it and the only way to unlock it is to contact clarion... lick my balls clarion the default password is 0000 and u get 3 tries but just disconnect the power and reconnect the power and BAM... you will be asked to enter a security code all over again...0000 that is your unlock code.

as for the start- up HINO screen... good luck. its called a splash screen and you would have to hack clarions firmware in order to do so and i suppose if you were able to locate the internal hard drive but even then. clarion invested billions to protect their operation systems in their devices. i think the image is burned into the chip where the head unit was sent from a hino dealer brand new in a box directly to clarion's I.T. to have changed cause it comes factory as a clarion boot screen.

you will also notice that the hint clarion nx501 wiring harness is altered so to make work in that truck that only comes with two front speakers.... the rear speaker leads are nowhere to be found; GONE like a new brides panties!.. you also won't have any rya leads ect.. gay gay situation and if u figure out the splash screen change let me know.

peace.

I have a clarion nx501. The micro sd card that has the navigation on it is corrupted. the guys at clarion said that they can't cover this under warranty. please tell me what my options are. i heard...

Please read my post here: http://community.crutchfield.com/forums/p/22187/251957.aspx (pasted below).

I hope you bought your unit at a Clarion dealer....

Hi, (Team Crutchfield - please add this to your knowledg-base.)
I'm on my third NX501 (could have been the fourth if not for working directly with Clarion).
The SD Card corruption causes both loss of Navigation and intermittent Sirius start up (it'll never acquire signal).
Your unit needs to use the exact micro sd card it came with forever (it has a permanent serial number).
You have two choices:
1. Get Crutchfield to replace the unit
2. Call Clarion (I suggest this rather than ripping your dash apart over and over).
Here's what to do. Contact:

Ben will have you send your microsd and rebuild it for you and return it (likely with the firmware upgrade that addresses this issues on another microsd that can also be found here: http://clarion.com/ca/en/support/navigation_updates/NX501Fupdate/index.html).
While you're at it, update the Bluetooth firmware too: http://www.clarion.com/us/en/support/software/NX501/index.html
Once you get the card returned (THIS IS HUGELY IMPORTANT - EVERYONE WITH A Clarion NX501 SHOULD DO THIS!!!), back it up using Naviextras toolbox (the program clarion uses for map updates). You can get it here: https://clarion.naviextras.com/shop/portal/downloads
Once you follow these steps, barring your micosd physically or logically self destructing, you'll have an NX501 that's nearly problem free and backed up just in case that unfortunate corruption reoccurs.

Of Note: Ensure you insert the microsd card with the contacts facing up and do not force anything.

I'm extremely confident this will make a world of difference for you (and anyone suffering the microsd corruption of the Clarion NX501).
Regards,
Marc (mshmovie)
