I just bought a playskool ride on (around) train with tracks, and i was wondering if the 3 AAA batteries that go in the steering wheel are the only batteries or if there is another battery compartment. its not working and i was wondering if it is broken or i need more batteries. the sound buttons do work, the train just doesnt drive. thanks erin

Hi Erin, I have the same train and tracks I am getting ready to sell. Yes, there is a black plastic box type thing under the main part (seat) of the train. If I remember correctly, it snaps off the train and there is a place for "D" batteries to go. The box comes apart from the train and there is a lid that comes off the box which holds the batteries. I hope this helps. My kids had lots of un with this train. Good luck!

Does anyone have the 3" x 4" battery cover for the 6 D batteries for Playskool Ride Around Train? We lost the piece in our move

Place a sheet of paper over the opening and trace around it using a pencil. Then draw around it to darken the lines and cut out. Find a piece of plastic off a food container or similar, tape the paper to the plastic and cut out the plastic. Verify fit and use hot glue to hold in place. Use just enough to hold but not so much that changing batteries is difficult. Alternate - a small piece of plexiglas from a hardware store. Good luck
