Hello,

Connect your TV to a DVD player. If there is still no picture, it means the display inverter of your Tv is defective.

The display inverter is what makes the TV brings picture. Since the TV is no longer bringng any picture, the display inverter is the first thing that needs to be checked as it is most likely the cause of the problem.

Please give me feedback if you need any assistance in locating or identifying the display inverter.

Thanks for using fixya

How do i fix the Lip sync on our new TV?

lip sync is the combination of the two signal carrier frequencies being out of sync
one signal carries sound and the other the picture and they normally come together correctly but that can be upset by a blip in the power supply, problems in the signal from the station or atmospheric disturbance
try changing channels a few times , try shutting the set down and then restarting it
read the operators manual for any clues in the trouble shooting section
Lastly talk with a repair shop for any advice on how to fix

I have a Toshiba 3387DB TV and am trying to connect it to my laptop. Tried to use DVI (out of laptop) to RGB phonos cable. Then through a scart adapter into the Scart 1 socket at back of TV. Manual says...

You need to convert the component sync signals into a composite sync compatible with SCART. The red, green and blue signals can be connected through as-is.

I have a JVC G40 DVD home theater system and when I play DVD's the voice and picture don't match up. Specifically, Peoples lips move and then a second later what they say is heard...how do I fix this?

When viewing on Digital TV:-
Sometimes Audio and Video signal can not be transmitted simultaneously due to additional process time for the video signal compared to that of the audio signal.
Often video signal takes more time than the audio signal to convert from analogue signal to digital signal in the Digital TV.
It may result in mismatch of the picture and sound.
In the TH-G30/40's HD AV Sync menu, you can adjust the audio signal delay for simultaneous AV signal transmission
1. Delay time can be varied in 10msec steps.(0 to 300ms)
2. Delay time is different between TV Brands.
So you need to adjust the delay time for correct lip-sync.
The adjustment is listed in the instruction book page12

Sound but no picture!

This is a normal, input board defective (as switch module inside betwen tv signal and the AV1,2,...) normaly is video chip defective. You need to send tv to repair shop, to check and repair.

Note: Check for tv picture signal, for quality, normally this circuit when defective, changes the quality signal (first some colours level, sync and then totaly defective is a dark picture)

I cannot find vertical hold

The sync is automatic. There are no knobs to turn. If the picture is rolling, look first to the source connection and make sure your tv has a solid vertical sync connection. If you are using the RF input then the issue could be within your small signal board also known as the SSB. Good luck.

Sound sync with picture

This may be the broadcast, or the service provider's equipment. We have seen this before. Most people are not too sensitive to lip-sync problems unless they are very severe. With digital TV distributions and the many conversions and signal processes along the way it is possible to have many types of delay problems. On my own TV set which is on a digital cable service I see this on a number of stations.
