My notebook HP compaq nc 8230 dont start, only write : INSERT SMART CARD INTO READER ...what should i do??

your computer is overheating. Try removing the keyboard and then cleaning off the cooling element.

Reinstall the latest driver for smart card reader will solve your problem.

u have not properly removed it when it is used.u insert u r card and press continue and properly remove it
