Sounds like the DMD chip is getting bad pixel failure. Most likely the chip will have to be replaced.
If the white spots are well defined and rectangular in shape when you get up close to the screen, then this would confirm the problem.
Just tell your friends that it's snowing in Kenya and the snow flakes are getting on the screen and ask the children to try and brush them off. Make the most of it until you can get it fixed, or get another broken one that has a good dmd chip and swap parts.
BenQ MP670 projector needs 1076-6038B DMD chips, this model DMD is normal, so it is not expensive, only cost USD129, as far as i know.
under these favorabble conditions, you had better directly buy a new one.
