Hi,
Windows Operating System comes in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. Examples are Windows XP (64-Bit) and Windows 7 (64-Bit). A 64-Bit Operating System is capable of handling large amounts of data. Hence, it is clear that newer hardware supports 64-bit operation. As for processor Core 2 Duo or higher is required with RAM at least 2 GB or more.

Hope it helps! Good Luck! Thanks for using Fixya!

If i update my cpu to t7800 will it give me more max ram its got the t7100 in it at the moment with 2 slots. 2x2gb ram max 4gb or do i need to incress the cores to get more ram and if so can u tell me a...

The cpu speed does not affect the amount of usable RAM.
If the motherbaord is designed to take more than 4gb, it can be installed, but will not be used if the operating system is 32 bit.
To use more than about 3.5gb you have to have a 64 bit operating system. For example, my PC motherboard has slots for 8gb and I have 4gb installed, but the system only uses 3.25gb because my operating system is 32 bit XP.

What kind of Pc station compact to dell 755

Hmmm, here we are again.

Between this question, and the other question you posted, are you asking what kind of Ram Memory to use?

DDR2 Sdram at 667Megahertz, or 800MHz.
That is PC2-5300, or PC2-6400.

The Maximum TOTAL Amount of Ram Memory for the motherboard, is 8GigaByte. (8GB)

This is ONLY if you are using an Operating System that is 64-bit.
(Examples; Windows XP 64-bit, Windows Vista 64-bit, Windows 7 64-bit )

Using an Operating System that is 32-bit, the realistic figure is more like 3GB to 3.5GB.

EVEN if you have 4GB of Ram Memory installed.

IF, this is not what you need meazaw, post back in a Comment.

Can i install windows 7 on acer veriton 7500g

Your Pc should meet the following hardware requirements in order to run Windows 7
  • 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
  • 1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
  • 16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
  • DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher drivers
I googled your pc model and found that you just need to install extra RAM (if your PC have less than 1 GB RAM).

How can i use the 4GB ddr ram? still on 2GB while it has 4GB.. it said that only 2GB usable.

The 2nd 2Gb RAM module may be faulty or not compatible with the other RAM module.
Try inserting one RAM module in the notebook at a time to determine which RAM module is faulty.
If both RAM modules work then make sure both RAM modules are the same make and speed.

I installed 4 Gig of RAM memory but only 3.25 shows up.\r\nis there a test I can run to see if the memory cards are working correctly? Thanks. Paul

It sounds like you are running a 32 bit operating system XP, Vista, or Windows 7 (32).
The 32 bit Operating Systems are only able to see and use about 3Gb of RAM. To use a greater amount you will need a 64 bit OS (either Windows XP/64 or Windows 7/64) or one of the open source 64 bit operating systems.

How to check weather computer will support 64 bit

Open the "System Properties" window

If your Start menu is configured for Classic Start menu, right-click the My Computer icon on your desktop, and click Properties.

If your Start menu is the Windows default Start menu, click the Start button, then right-click the My Computer icon in your Start menu, and click Properties.

Click the Advanced tab.

Click Environment Variables.

In the "System variables" list at the bottom of the Environment Variables window, look for a variable called "PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE". If your PC has a 32-bit processor, this variable will have a value of "x86". If it has a 64-bit processor this variable will have a value of "x64".

Best operating system for new build?

Either Windows XP or Vista 64 bit edition, depending on what you like...I won't get into the xp vs. vista battle here lol. The 64 bit operating systems can see all of your memory, with the 32 bit OS's, you're limited to around 3 or so gigs. Do note, that there may be some incompatibilities with a 64 bit operating system, though most programs should run fine.
