SOURCE: LG Gas dryer doesn't dry clothes in one cycle

Have you checked your outside vent while it was running to see if the dryer was venting 100%. If your clothes are hot and humid I would say clean your vent pipe has a blockage and needs to be cleaned out. Also as far as the burning smell you could take the front off (unplug first) the dryer of by removing 4 screws one above and one below the latch and two at the bottom and there are two clips one at the top left and right push in with a puddy knife and lift the top up a couple inches and lift the front up off the bottom holders. Then you will have access to vacuuming the lint that is floating around the burner.

SOURCE: Dryer will not dry clothes properly

Problem: The drum spins, but there is no heat.
Solution: This could be the effect of a number of problems. Here's a list of things to check and details on how to do it.

  • Fuse could be bad -- Check the fuse for a break inside. If it’s bad, replace it with an identical fuse.
  • Temperature switch could be bad -- Use VOM to check the switch. Set VOM to RX1, remove leads and touch the probes to the switch's terminals. The reading should be zero or infinity. Turn the switch, and the reading should change from zero to infinity or infinity to zero. If not, the switch is bad.
  • Thermostat could be bad -- Set the VOM to RX1, take a lead off one of the two outside terminals and press the probes to the two outside terminals. There should be a reading of zero. If not, it's bad.
  • Heating coils may be bad -- Set the VOM to RX1 and remove the leads from the coil. Press the probes to the terminals. If the reading is zero, the coil is bad.
  • Timer could be bad -- Disconnect the leads from the motor. Set the VOM to RX100. Clip the probes onto the leads. If the reading is infinity, the timer motor is bad.

My clothes smell after drying them

Have you cleaned the dryer? You should clean out the heating coil area at least once a year. Lint can build up and burn and the odor is drawn into the dryer when it runs.

What is the bruning rubber odor - new dryer!

Im not familier with that particular machine but it sounds as though bits of the rubber backing you talk about has flaked into tiny bits and moved beyond the drum and into the workings of the dryer moter and heater. Contact with these will produce the smell and slight risk of fire.
The back of the applience will need to come off and cleaned out.How you accomplise this is up to you!!. If you have some one who is very handy at this sort of thing then grt.otherwise leave it to a proffesional. Obviosly compressed air gun is the way to do it.

Odor

Hi,
If you don't clean out the lint trap frequently, your dryer may have small lint fires inside the cabinet. The smell from these fires can leave a strong odor in the clothes drum. Also, if there are any solvents, paints, lacquers, etc. in use in the house, your dryer may alter and/or amplify the fumes to an odor unlike the natural fumes given by the solvent, paint, etc.
Here's what to do:
  1. First, clean all of the lint from the inside cabinet and ductwork of your dryer.
  2. Move all containers of flammable liquids at least 50 feet away from the dryer.
  3. Then, try to clear the odor, by running a couple of loads of old rags or towels.

Burning smell during drying cycle, coming from the inside back left grate. The grate appears discolored.

Usually when a gas dryer overheats it's because of a defective cycling thermostat or a clogged vent system. Clean any lint from the internal and external ductwork, and/or replace the cycling thermostat .

  • First, clean all of the lint from the inside cabinet and ductwork of your dryer.

  • Have a qualified appliance repair technician inspect the dryer for damage caused by any lint fire.

  • Move all containers of flammable liquids at least 50 feet away from the dryer. Gas dryers have a large flame when operating properly and can ignite the fumes of any flammable liquid or gas.

  • Then, try to clear the odor, by running a couple of loads of old rags or towels.
