When you buy a printer power cable tell to the salesman/saleslady about the model of the printer for them to match your printer...
You can locate the input power chord into back or side of the printer...then plug that power cable into outlet to power on the printer
Note: Do not power on the printer until your pc configure it

Why won't my Samsung np305e5a power-up/stay on when power cable is attached?

I have replaced many of those charger receptacles on different types of equipment and noticed that the contact going to the appliance will open when the charger lead is plugged in and re-close when it is removed. Also, there is usually a red LED that will light when charging and go off when the plug is removed letting us know that switch is OK. Was this of any help for you?

I need to hook up a CD drive to my computer. I have a P5GC MX/133 mother board, two 256 gig hard drives and 3 1/2 disk drive. I would preferr not to diconnect any of the ubove

Well you could get an external CD/DVD drive. You didn't say how the existing drives are connected - but it seems like, according to specs, that you can take

4 - SATA - Serial ATA devices
2 - ATA (aka IDE) devices (one connector jack. Drives would be Master and Slave, or more likely CSEL or Cable Select. So if you jumper the drives CSEL they should just work.)

SATA is the better drive interface technology these days, so I'd go for an internal SATA CD Drive ... assuming you have a CD bay. Not knowing how / who built your computer I have no way of knowing how many spare Power Cables and SATA cables, etc. that you have available. But usually with a new drive purchase they give you cables.

If they don't give them, and you need them, you can get power cable adaptors as well that will change a white standard power plug/cable inside the computer to an SATA type power plug. Often there will be spare SATA power cables in there anyway since the motherboard come with 4 SATA connections on the motherboard.

Connecting a sony ccd-trv46e to a computer

Yes, it is possible to connect your Sony CCD-TRV46E camcorder to a computer. In order to do so, you will need a few things:
  1. A video capture device: This device converts the analog video signal from your camcorder into a digital format that your computer can understand. There are several types of video capture devices available, such as USB capture devices, FireWire capture devices, and HDMI capture devices.
  2. A cable to connect the camcorder to the video capture device: The cable you need will depend on the type of video capture device you choose. For example, if you choose a USB capture device, you will need a USB cable. If you choose a FireWire capture device, you will need a FireWire cable.
  3. Software to control the capture process: There are many software options available that can be used to control the capture process, such as VLC, Windows Movie Maker, Adobe Premiere, etc.
It seems that you have a cable that connects the camera to the power supply, and another one that is not supposed to connect to anything. To connect your Sony CCD-TRV46E to a computer you will need a specific cable called AV cable (Audio Video cable) that has a yellow plug for video, white and red for audio and a small round plug for power.
Please double check the user manual for your camera and make sure that it supports the transfer of video to a computer before you buy the AV cable or the video capture device.

Can't get router to work after disconnection.

Try setting it up as follows, if its not working come back on and let us know.

Plug in the modem power.
Plug in the router power.
Plug in one ethernet cable from the modem to the internet port or WAN port of the router.
If not wireless, plug a second ethernet cable into the "1" port of the router and the other end of that cable to the computers LAN or ethernet port.

Attempt to get on a website.
If this is unsuccessful, restart the modem by unplugging the power cord from the modem, wait 15 seconds, then plug it back in.
Unplug the router, wait for 15 seconds then plug it back in.

Still doesn't work?
On your computer, hit Start>Run>type cmd in the text box and hit enter.
A window will open up with a cursor.
Type ipconfig /release
Hit enter.
Type ipconfig /renew
Hit enter.

Try once again to access a website. If this is unsuccessful, return this site and let us know what steps you have tried.

Hope this helps.

I have lost Connection to the unit

I just bought a 320 GB version and I was not at all surprised when it did not work - Windows Explorer did not see it and no USB "gerdunk" noise ensued. Problem is that depending on the quality of the USB port that the USB cable is plugged into, it may or may not provide sufficient powere to the drive. The answer is simple: connect the drive using a Y-cable. This type of cable has two USB Type A male plugs on one end and a single male Mini-B connector on the other end. The two type A plugs need to be inserted into two USB sockets on your PC. One of them supplies 5V at up to 500 mA plus the USB signals; the other suppllies only 5V at up to 500 mA. That provides up to 1 Amp of current compared with up to 500 mA for just a single connection. I don't know why WD does not supply a Y-cable with the drive!!!! I've been aware of this problem for some USB sockets/some PCs/some drives for yonks. The Y cables are somewhat hard to get - here is one supplier in the States: www.pcconnection.com Anyone know of a supplier in Australia?

Don't know how to setup printer or hook to computer

Hello calbj5, Since you didn't provide a make /model computer or printer..all I can provide is general guidelines for you.. Your printer will have a few features in that you will need to determine what fits your system best.. Many newer printers use a USB port to communicate with the computer.. This is a modular type plug ( one end will match the plug on your printer ) and the other end will be plugge dinto any available USB port on the back of your computer, ( older systems used what they call a D-Type cable assembly ) and if tha is what you require, you willl need to get that cable. Like I said.. most newer style printers come with the USB type cable as standard. You will also find the power cord provided with your printer..One ened plugs into the back or side mating plug of the printer and the other to your power receptacle ( hopefully you are using a surge protector set up)
Once you have both cables hooked up and plugged in.. you've probably been provided with a CD that came with your computer as well as instructions for loading the drivers on that CD ( most of the time) you just insert the CD into your CD player and it wil ask a few questions and self load.. Please let me know if this gets you going or youneed clarification.. It's always a good idea to provide brand and model numbers in your questions.. That helps us in helping you.. Good Luck !
