The CLEAN light is flashing on my Kenmore QuietGuard3 , but it won't clean anything. It starts a cycle for a few minutes, stops and starts flashing clean again. Any suggestions?

You will have to reset the dishwasher. First try and turn off the mains power and back on after a short time. If the clean light flashing starts again then you go through the hard reset procedure.

press NORMAL WASH then HEATED DRY buttons one after the other until all the lights on the board lit up (3X's). The dishwasher will enter into a cycle; Press Cancel. This should stop the flashing.
If you are supplying dishwasher from hot water inlet then make sure the inlet water temperature stays within the recommended range of 145 deg F.

The "clean" light is green, flashing.Dishwasher won't restart.

Hi,

This is due to the water not heating properly. I have put together some instructions on how to reset the control so you can use the dishwasher again and what to check for as to why it failed. Follow the link and let me know if it was helpful.

Clean light flashes constanly. Won't clear out to start new cycle

If the clean light flashes 7 times, pauses, then repeats...

When the dishwasher doesn't sense a water temperature increase, it will stop working and lock the functions (clean light flashes 7 times, all buttons are non responsive). It does this as a safety in case the element is broken and feeding electrical current into the water.

To resolve this you will have to reset the console. Do this by closing the door and press these buttons in sequence...

-high temp wash
-heated dry
-high temp wash
-heated dry

...all the lights will turn on briefly and the machine will start a diagnostic cycle. You can press cancel or let the diagnostic cyle finish (1-2 minutes).
You should now be able to run the dishwasher as normal.

If the issue returns, you could have a problem with the heating circuit (ie. element, thermostat or wiring). It rarely happens but it could also be the door switch not engaging properly when the door is closed (slightly bend the door latch down making sure it doesn't hit the door when you close it).

Clean light flashing

this is a safety failure of the unit not heating the water properly. if you push the " water heat, air dry, water heat, air dry" in that order, then it will go into the program mode and clear out that failure code.
then try the unit again, if you open the door during the heat cycle or it doesnt heat properly it will happen again. make sure you have hot enough water, 120 degrees, going to the unit and dont open the door after you start the cycle. if it continues call sears for service as it has a 1 year warranty.
