The 25 pint Frigidaire dehumidifer will not run anymore, even when the bucket is not full. I have cleaned the filter completely, and attempted to vacuum the grills, but it still isn't working. After unplugging it, I plug it back in and it runs for about 3-4 seconds, then stops, and the red blinking "full" light comes back on. It is not a power issue either. Any thoughts?

thanks; I found out that the problem was with the plastic attachment piece on the upper left portion of the bucket that had been pushed down; evidently that started when I had incorrectly tried to put in the bucket without checking completely. So, I appreciate the comments. Kirk

Hi grandmesa13,

Thank you for your question at Fixya,

The solution to your problem is as follows :-

  • You need to ensure that float valve which is in the top of the water collection bucket is not stuck in the " UP " Position or Full Position.
  • If you find that it has been stuck then you need to move the arm of the float valve with quick jerks so that it returns back to the down position and it will solve your problem.
  • If the above method does not work then , you need to check the exact point on the bucket there the hose connects itself and check if there is any obstruction or something in the middle near the outlet of the bucket which goes to the hose connection.
  • If it has loops it may trap the air to the drain, therefore you can try setting up the dehumidifier at a higher level to get a good drainage.

Hope that helps ...:) In case you have any queries, feel free to contact me.

Hello,

problem should be from the sensor assembly.

Try feeling both sides of the outside of the bucket and make sure the bucket is flush with the dehumidifier. If one side is sticking out more than the other it may not be engaged correctly which will cause a full bucket notification. If everything checks out okay, then try taking the bucket out and push in on the button that the lever from the bucket engages on at the dehumidifier. If the light turns off after you push on the red button that means the bucket is not engaging correctly. If the red light stays on and it doesn't make a difference then the button sensor may be defective.

Regards.

Dehumidifier seems to be running fine, but water leaking on floor even with minimal water accumulated in bucket?

Hey friend, thanks for your post!

It sounds like your dehumidifier needs to be professionally cleaned. What could be causing the problem is a buildup on the inside of your dehumidifier where the water drains out and it is causing the water to not drain properly. Additionally, I would check to verify that the drain hole is tightly secured with the plug. I know you stated that the bucket is not leaking but have you removed it to verify? Please comment back if further assist is needed. -Matt

Why does Frigidaire dehumidifier send water outside bucket?

Good Afternoon Jean,

I understand that your Frigidaire dehumidifier, model# FAD704DWD, is putting the water that it collects out onto the floor as oppose to the bucket. I suggest contacting the manufacturer for more information. They should be able to point you in the right direction for assistance. Hope this is helpful.

Why does blower wheel stop on Frigidaire dehumdifier?

Good Afternoon Desi,

I understand that the blower wheel is not spinning on your Frigidaire dehumidifier, model# FAD504DUD. I also see that the compressor will stay on unless the dehumidifier is unplugged. I suggest you contact the manufacturer for further assistance. They can possibly clarify why the compressor stays on and why the blower fan is not working. If not, they should at least be able to point you in the right direction of having your dehumidifier working. Hope this is helpful.

My dehumidifer runs but no water is being pulled out

Might be a dirty coil and condenser.
I have had a AD75UST0 WHIRLPOOL Dehumidifier for several years. If it actually still runs, I would suggest you take off covers and give the coils a good thorough cleaning. Otherwise the units are not designed to be serviceable aka - "disposable small appliance". if you do dispose of it take it to a qualified recycle organization for Freon products. Shut unit off. Remove "bucket". You should find a "tab" at top of where bucket goes in middle front of unit. Pull down to remove tab of Filter. Clean thoroughly and dry Filter before re installation. Visually inspect the coils and condenser while filter is out ( a flashlight helps). If it looks slightly dusty or like covered in felt, then it would be wise to remove front and rear covers and give the coils and condenser a thorough cleaning.

Dehumidifier smells stinky

Have you read its manual? http://manuals.frigidaire.com/prodinfo_pdf/Edison/2020266a0220en.pdf

It says (p8):

Care and Cleaning
1. Filter
a. Remove the filter every two weeks based on normal operating conditions.
b. To remove the filter, remove Bucket then pull filter downwards.
c. Wash the filter with clean water then dry.
d. Re-install the filter, then replace Bucket.
2. Cabinet
a. Dust cabinet with an oil-free cloth, or using a damp cloth.
b. Vacuum grill using brush attachment.
3. Water Bucket
a. Clean bucket with warm water and detergent.

I recommend you to use a mix 75% water, 25 % vinegar. To clean its water bucket.

Frigidaire 70 pint dehumidifier model # LAd704TDK filter looks to have frozen or clogged, how to remove filter to check for problems?

Turn the unit OFF & unplug it. Remove the water collection bucket and set aside. At the top of the bucket holder, just behind the louvers you should see a plastic pull tab, which is part of the filter frame. If you have never removed the filter before, there may be a piece of plastic tape on the filter frame. It was put there for shipping. Remove and discard it. Pull straight down on the plastic tab and remove the filter. It can be cleaned by vacuuming it or if it's really dirty, wash it in with warm water and mild dish washing liquid. Rinse thoroughly, shake off access water and allow to completely dry, before reinstalling it. Never operate the unit without the filter in place, as doing so could cause damage to the unit. The filter should be removed and cleaned once every two weeks.

Hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Figidaire 25 pint dehumidifier

Check the point on the tank (Bucket) where the hose connects to. Make sure there is no obstruction at the outlet of the bucket to the hose connection. Next make sure the hose has no kinks or no loops that may trap air to the drain. If necessary for a long run to the place of drainage raise the dehumidifier to a higher level for better drainage.

Power lose

I have a 45 pint. I have to slide the bucket in and out of the unit multiple times. Make sure to wait a few seconds after each time to see if it will recognize no water (sometimes the red light comes on, but then changes it mind). Also, I've found that leaving the bucket a little crooked will make it respond. It sucks, I know. Mine is only a year old too. Should not be a problem like this!
