F a device is locking up and has a long noise or beep when powering
down, this is due to hidden data being transferred to the microSD data
card. These hidden files and folders are being created by the computer
and sent to the data card in addition to the maps, waypoints, routes,
tracks and pictures that were selected. The following GPS units could
experience this issue.
To
prevent this issue when the device is shutting down delete these extra
unused or hidden files and folders from the data card. Examples of these
folders are: .Trashes and .Spotlight-V100 folders. Since the Mac OS
adds hidden files and folders to mounted removable drive volumes this
process cannot be done on a Mac and will need to be done after every
time the data card is mounted as a volume on a Mac.
To delete these folders the device will have to be placed into USB Mass Storage mode. To do this:
The
device is now in USB Mass Storage Mode. At this time a window should
open on the computer desktop displaying Removable Disk at the top. The
Garmin folder will be displayed. Open the Garmin folder.
Do NOT delete the the following files:
These files contain supplemental mapping. If delete will cause the mapping to be erased or unviewable.
If
there are other folders or files on the data card, delete these. Some
of these files or folders may be hidden and therefore will need to be
unhidden*. Once you have done so, please disconnect the device from the
computer and power it up.

There are a few instances in which you may want to perform a master reset on your Rino two-way radio, such as:
All settings, user data1,not receiving a satellite signal
want to restore the factory default settings
not functioning properly
and satellite data may be erased when resetting the GPS. User data can
be backed up to the computer, therefore refer to the FAQ article before performing the reset.
To perform a master reset:
TheTurn off the device
Press the PAGE, ENTER2, and POWER buttons simultaneously
Release on the buttons once the Do you really want to erase all user data? message appears
Select Yes
Rino is now reset. You will want to leave the device outside with a
clear view of the sky for a minimum of 20 minutes to acquire satellite
data.
