Paypal should be safe as long as you vary your password from time to time.
They do use encrypting software for their secure site. It would be as secure as any online banking with the big banks.

They also offer a guarantee of refund for some types of transactions.
Paypal's phone number is 1800-073-263 if you need to talk to them.

I keep trying to use my paypal account and message says to return to merchant. Why is it not taking my charges?

First, we'll assume that the vendor/merchant accepts PayPal. Then, we'll assume you have your orders in their (online) shopping cart. And then, we'll assume you're ready to check out, and you select the Checkout with PayPal option (instead of just the Merchant's Checkout). Then, on the next screen, you're asked to sign into PayPal. And, we'll assume you've done it successfully. The screen should show you the items in your shopping cart and amount payable. You will be asked to confirm the purchase and payment (options), shipping, etc. to your PayPal address. Assuming you have funds in your PayPal account and/or a valid credit card (or bank account) registered against your PayPal account, the transaction should be completed, and you'll get an order confirmation screen displayed (and also an email to your PayPal email address to confirm order received, and another email to confirm the amount you'd paid to that vendor/merchant).

If your PayPal account is not in good standing, your login and/or your "submit" order (step) will be unsuccessful.

Can you let me know if / where (in this typical process) you got into problems ? and was asked to return to the merchant ?

please don't post personal information on here, you are jeopardizing your security.
If you opened a paypal account and can't access it you will need to contact paypal support Customer Support with your details. If you opened an account you should have received an email to your email address which you used to register your paypal account.DO NOT post details on here for your own safety

Paypal problems

PayPal is one means via which people all over the world send and receive money online.
As is the case with any online service, however, PayPal subjects you to account limitations and, in some cases, outright suspensions.

If your account is suspended, you shouldn't panic in order to open a new account, all you need initially is a different email address but rather take quick action so that you can begin using PayPal's services again as soon as possible.

Create a new PayPal account online.
Visit the link listed Below
https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_registration-run

Select your country and language from the drop-down menus, then click "Personal," "Premier" or "Business," depending on whether you plan to use your account for online shopping, selling or your company, respectively.

Enter your name, address and phone number, then click "Agree and Create Account."
Enter your payment method details.

In order to use your new PayPal account to make purchases online, you'll need to have a payment method either a checking account or a credit card on file.

It's important to note that because your suspended account is linked to any credit cards or checking accounts you put on file when you were using it, you'll need to use different cards and/or accounts for your new PayPal account.

If you use a checking account that's associated with a suspended account, the system will reject it.

Use your secondary account as you would your normal account, keeping in mind that you should contact PayPal and ask them to reverse your primary account's suspension if you wish to use credit cards and checking accounts associated with it to transact online.

I keep getting charged for a game i havent bought

Hi,

If you are very sure that you haven't purchased any game like what you mentioned then you first do the following for safety of your paypal account and the email associated with it.

Step 1 - Scan your computer with antivirus or anti trojan software. Once you are sure its clean
Step 2 - Change password of your email address associated with your paypal.
Step 3 - Change password of your paypal account.

Make sure you remember the new password you use.

After doing that you should do the following.

Step 4 - Check last log-in (you can find it above the notifications. If you are sure its you then continue)
Step 5 - Check the email of the game that keep on charging your paypal and email them or call them and tell them your concern. You should be able to get a reply from them.
Step 6 - If there is no reply after a day or two you should file a dispute.

Good luck.

I have been charged TWICE for the same purchase!!!!!!! $161.99 BY bullhealp.com , and $169.99 by PAYPAL !!! I only ordered and only received the one item. PLEASE CREDIT MY CREDIT CARD AT ONCE. Phillip...

Never EVER put credit card information in an open post like this. You need to contact PayPal and the company you purchased the item from in order to get this resolved. As an additional safety precaution I would cancel the card you put in the post and ask that a new number be issued because as of now you are totally un-secure and anyone could be using your information.

Hi.

First of all, If you want to use PayPal - make sure you have 2 Bank accounts.
1 bank account for your money to be safe (Account A)
1 bank account for PayPal issues. (Account B)

Lets say you want to buy a pair of shoe that costs $30.00 and you have $400.00 in the bank.
Keep Limits.- dont do such mistakes.

so use Account B.

If your Account B has $5 and you need $15 to make it $20 for the shoes, transfer $20 from Account A to Account B.
PayPal may have they costs that would charge.

and it is safer from hacker. they never know how much money you have in your Account A - Safest

I hope you understand what is going on. - There are charges and online transactions are no really that safe. make sure the paypal site is trusted.

This is what I do for my VISA credit Card.

Email asking for account details

This is 100% scam and we should aware of this type of emails. Usually they include links like "click here to verify your account" etc.. and in most cases, this email isn't text format but image format where they insert hyperlink and as soon as click on the area of the mail, you'll be directed to another phishing site with the similar website like paypal (only the appearance,) if so open it, but don't enter any information and check the web address on the address bar, you'll see something like http://wwww.paypal.com (4 w's) or www1.paypal.com (3w's with 1), etc..

Just ignore it and forward or send this email to paypal directly to their Scam Alert email [email protected]

This has been circulating for some time now, so we need to be aware of this, they can easily copy your paypal's password and username/email address as soon as you attempt to login. There more with this, at your first attempt, you'll get an error message that your username or password is incorrect, at that time they've already captured your login account info and have been directed to the original paypal website. If you don't believe, use wrong/random email address and password, click login and see what happens.

This is What We Call Phishing.

Good luck
