It sounds like the lid switch is faulty. The washer has a lid switch that checks to see if the lid is open, if lid is open the washer will not start the wash cycle. Check/replace the lid switch and you should be back in business.
Well it means there is some problem in the Lid switch - If the lid switch is defective, your washer can't spin and may not function at all. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washer to get to the switch. The lid may have a striker which depresses the switch when the lid is closed. Make sure the striker is functioning and aligned with the hole over the switch. Inspect the switch and make sure the metal strip is not bent out of position (if present). If your switch uses a mercury switch, make sure the mercury envelops the internal contacts when it is in the closed lid position. If it's defective, you need to replace it. A lid switch price is about $20
Sounds like the timer is faulty. Or you lid switch is out of wack. Try leaving leaving lid open and placing a screwdriver in switch located where the lid clip comes down into washer. If this works the switch will need replaced. Timer is another story as you will have to remove top panel and replace timer if the lid switch is not the cause
Good day,
Common problem, Change the switch, and make sure if it is the model with a plunger for the switch mounted on the lid, that that be replaced as well.
If sound like a lid switch issue.
Open the top of the washer to get an access to the lid switch(located near the doorframe).
Look for a loose wire or a broken switch. In case there is no loose wire or broken switch, you should replace the switch.
Good luck!
