Cannot get my ipod/iphone to play the video clips on my jvc kd-avx77 it plays the sound just not getting any video clips dvd player is working fine music plays fine on the ipod/iphone just cannot play video clips from my ipod/iphone

    this does not help me at all i have all the right cables and video to watch on jpeg/mpeg and i have the user guide i have followed all the guides to this but still only getting sound and no video i was wondering if there was something i have miss like setting need changing on my phone or the jvc unit the guy i brought it from he had no troubles he just plug it in and it work straight away could it be something to do with my amps which are plug up to it

    its ok i have found the problem myself on the jvc unit you have to turn off the ipod in the av section then it lets you play your movies and still plays your music too strange i know
    am just letting you know for your history in case you have anymore questions on this

Worked on my BOSS dvd player and Alpine dvd player
i had the same problem. It is illegal to watch videos while driving hence why they dont tell you how to play youtube off of card and usb. But after hours of testing converted videos here what works for me.
download pazera free flv to avi converter. after that you will have to custom convert the videos with these settings....video format is MPG custom MPEG-2/ FPS 29.97. Audio mp3-mpeg- layer 3/ bit rate 128 and i added stereo-2 for kicks. last but not least custom resolution 720x480. convert and it works :)

Hello there, the JVC unit can play 2 video file formats these are JPEG/MPEG. To watch video you need to have USB audio and video cable for ipod/iphone, KS-U30 to the usb cable from the rear of the unit. When this connection has been made you touch [SRC] then select iPod. When you connect your ipod/iphone to the USB terminal if it is not selected automatically you can select it from the SRC menu. You can check this out on page 49 of the user guide.
Also the unit only supports certain file formats which are mpeg and jpeg and also of a certain resolution. This can also be found on page 59 of the user guide.

Did you ever get this fixed? I'm kind of having the same problem, my radio works but nothing else is. I can hear music on the radio but when I switch to cd or bt (iPhone) ... check if the cable is broken or come loose from the backside of the HU. you will need to do this through a car audio fitment guy.

also, mention what exactly you you mean it stopped working.
did you do the basic stuff like checking if the usb device is working condition, selecting usb in source etc?

Most likely not, because the Ipod needs a USB 2.0 port, the JVC receiver you has most likely has an older USB port version. The cord should not make a difference.

Cant get my iphone / ipod to play with the jvc kd-avx11
According to Crutchfield.com, which does hands-on research, "The KS-PD100 is not compatible with the iPod touch (1st, 2nd generation) or iPhone/iPhone 3G. This iPod interface will also not charge the iPod nano (4th generation)."
I'm currently a victim to this JVC abandonment too.
I'm looking for a 3rd party adapter that may solve this... Jvc better get on the ball because Ipods are moving forward with newer models...
I'll get back to you if I find a compatible adapter..

JVC KD-NX5000 NOT WORKING PROPERLY
I had the same problem, where the Sat radio, the bluetooth and the ipod were all non-functional. Turns out, they all go through one central hook-up, so you have to make sure that connection is good.

When mine did not show up or function, I looked at the install under the foot board of the front passenger seat that the installer did, and nothing looked out of whack. Upon closer inspection, one of the cables was had been pressed out of it's proper place and loosened enough to cause a bad connection.

I don't care for the install, but there was no problem with the equipment, so check all of your connections. Even to the point of pulling them out and reconnecting them to see if that fixes the problem.
