I have a 1GB corsair SD flash card with photos; only 75% deleted and I get a write protection message. Its used in Lumix DMC-FZ20 and it shows no photos on card but the PC shows 25% full. How do I remove write protection to clear remaining data? [email protected]

Just format it and if you want your data then,
All you have to do is:

Step One:
To save data, use EASEUS Data Recovery software (free version - 1GB of datarecovery). how:
1. Download and install EASEUS Data Recovery
2. Choose Complete Recovery - Next
3. Choose the drive micro SD - Next
4. Save the data to the hard disk (max. 1GB)
5. Because of your micro SD 2GB, repeat the process of recovery (repeat step 2, 3,4)
After all data is secure, do the process of removing the micro SD password

Step Two:
The first alternative - use the software HP Drive Key Boot Utility
1. Download and install the software HP Drive Key Boot Utility
2. Then, double click the file cp006049.exe
3. If you are using Win XP, double click the file cp006049.exe - select Install.
4. If you are using Win Vista or Seven, double click the file cp006049.exe - selectextrack.
5. Then, open the program "HP Drive Key Boot Utility or hpdkbu.exe" - Next - selectdrive - Next - Create new or replace exiting configuration - Next - Hard drive - Next -Create new file system - Next - wait until the process is completed - Next - Finish.
6. Remove the micro SD from the USB port, then insert it again.
7. Quick format micro SD (FAT file system)
8. Restore all data, to the micro SD.

The second alternative - use software HDD Low Level Format Tool
1. Download and install HDD Low Level Format Tool
2. Select micro SD - Continue
3. Click S.M.A.R.T - click Get Smart Attributes
4. Click LOW LEVEL FORMAT - click Format this device
5. Wait until the process is complete - press OK
6. Remove the micro SD from the USB port, then insert it again.
7. Quick format micro SD (FAT file system)
8. Restore all data, to the micro SD.

I have a panasonic lumix DMC-FZ20 camera that i installed an 8g memory card but it says memory card error

The DMC-FZ20 works with MMC and SD cards, 2GB or smaller. Your 8GB card is an SDHC card, which fits into the slot but is electronically incompatible.

My Panasonic DMC-FZ20 says Memory Card Error.

Hi
Please check your cameras capability to support larger sized SD cards. It may not support those two SD cards. Also check for slide locks on the side of the cards and slide them to 'open' before inserting.

Hope it helps.Thanks!

How big a memory card can you put in a DMC-FZ20 camera? I just got an 8 GB card and get "Memory Card Error" all the time. The old 256 MB card works fine.

An 8GB card is not SD, but SDHC (High Capacity). SDHC cards fit the same slot as SD cards, but they are slightly different and many cameras do not work with them.

I have a DMC-FZ20 myself, and use a 1GB card. That is really plenty of space. If you want more (going on holiday?) then just carry a couple of spares. The manual doesn't mention memory cards larger than 1GB. Probably there weren't any when it was written.

Camera wont allow me to take photos says

SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

Single exposure, double download????

From your description, your problem may be using the same card in two different cameras. You will need to format the card in the Lumix to get it to work properly. This will erase the card so download any important pics first. Then, stop trading cards between cameras.

What is the maximum size of sd card that can be used in the lumix fz20 ?

This camera uses the SD standard - not SD HC. The highest capacity mentioned in the manual is 1GB althought the SD stanard supports up to 4GB.
