I do not have a dial tone on the base unit nor on the 2 extension units. The phone was working yesterday. I've attempted to repair by unplugging base unit and removing and replacing all 3 battery units. Still nothing. Any suggestions?
I'm presently experiencing the same issue. I unplugged the power and the phone line and plugged in another device and it worked. All I getr from the GE 25825 base is static. The phones will ring but because it will not produce a dial tone from the base the cann ot be answered.I'm presently experiencing the same issue. Hi Pam,
Try these..1...remove your telephone line from base unit and fix it into a working land phone and check whether is it having normal dial tone.If it's having engage tone(beep beep...)remove paralleled phones and re connect to cordless base unit.
2.If line is ok (normal dial tone with full volume) & still display indicates line is busy, your main base unit must be having faulty components inside.Commonly these defects happen in thundering or surges through telephone lines. You have to take full set to a repair shop.
Rana.
If you have another phone connect it to the wall outlet to see if you get a dial tone. This will indicate if your base unit is faulty. Check the power adapter to the base unit, make sure it is getting mains power. If the base unit has dual phone lines and if line 1 is only connected and the line 2 has beed selected then you cannot get a dial tone. In the chase press the line 1 to get a dial tone. If your base unit has only one line then check the phone line at the wall socket make sure it is plugged in tight, also check the the connection at the base unit. If this does not work then ring the phone company and get the to test your phone line, you may have a faulty line to your home.
try to check the line connection at the back it has two inputs line and phone connect the wire from wall to line input then the phone input to a phone unit ..you better put a phone extension so you can hear or check if it has a dial tone
The battery in the handset could be bad . First I would test that the base unit is recieving dial tone by pressing speaker button on base unit. If there is dial tone then problem is in handset or in base unit communication to handset. Try resetting power to base unit. Check manual for any re-initialization procedure. If the base unit is not receiving dial tone then I would test that the phone line is delivering dial tone to the base unit by connecting a known good phone to the line cord. If the dial tone is not present , problem could be in line cord from outlet, outlet, building wiring, or service provider.
Ok, comming from a Cable Tel Technician, this is most likely your telephone service.
Contact your Telephone repair for them to reset your tel service (this will most likely be due to a digital service outage and will need to be repaired.)
An option is to try a cheap wired phone in the outlet experiencing the issues and attempt the problem again. if this rectifies the issue, remove the phone from the wall outllet(electrical) and wait a few moments and also remove the batteries for 30 seconds total.
If all the above does not fix this issue, attempt calling the manufacturer for a more abrupt powercycle method to reset the base unit (Transmitter)
Panasonic KX-TG1050N Cordless Phone. Base handset (No. 1, KX-TGA100N) does not work, no keypad response or dial tone. Green indicator message light ON (should only work with the TG1000N base unit) all the time till battery runs down. Display shows message ?C533?. Can still send and receive calls on extension phones 2 and 3.
If you have tried the phone base unit in the same jack that works correctly with your answering machine and you still cannot break dial tone, then you have a defective base unit. Jer
If the second handset works ok on the base and the first handset doesn't, then you are right...the fault lies with the first handset. There are batteries ( special type ) in the handset, it sound as if either the batteries are dead, or not charged ( try charging them for 12 hours on the good base station ) or the connection is bad.
