How to unlock touch pad for HP elite book 8460p

if you RTM at HP it tells this. on this laptop.
remove keyboard first.
see vga gpu chip there, under a heat sinking (captive)
on my 8540p it has 3 cards to choose, at HP
on 8460w (one of the few LT with a card) !!!

only the motherboard can be changed to do that
sorry, but its now 8540w like mine.

reset BIOS setting to default and restart your book. check it. if not working then re-install the drivers of touch pad. If you r facing the same problem.then see the video by clicking the following link to disassemble the notebook and check touch pad cables.

Try system restore.

Search for the button for PAD LOCK, of press Fn + some other buton to unlock...
and next time write pc model.

Return the laptop, HP has a history with motherboard issues.

why not use the drivers seen at HP. for this model
this model is supported 100% why not>

its not just one driver, its a set, and they work as TEAM.

there is this magic program that might help (i never trust magic)
but you can get lucky, luck happens. if not we do it all by hand.

Do not worry .. You disabled the touch pad by mistake .

Press two times the touch pad area where you can see yellow light...

two times press make it lock and unlock both......

what you mean by unlock?

I'm not sure what you operating system is but I'd suggest you go to your Control Panel and look for Touch pad and look at the settings there, If there's no Touchpad listed have a look in the Mouse settings.
