Go into device manager, under control panel, go into network adapters, select your wireless adapter, right click on it, click uninstall, if you're with vista, it'll prompt you to delete the drivers, just leave that box unchecked then click ok. After the adapter is gone, click on action on device manager then click scan for hardware changes. The wifi adapter should be re installed. after you check that the wifi adapter is back on the list, you can exit device manager. Click start, connect to, try to reconnect to your router and it should work fine. After you have established internet connection and you can browse, you can download tthe Skype program again.

Hope this helps

Use a computer that has Internet connection to download the latest driver then copy the driver to your Toshiba.
You can download any orall the Windows XP or Vista device drivers for your model laptop from theToshiba WEB site from their download page. Make sure you enter the model ofyour laptop so you can get the correct drivers. My toshiba laptop does not work on a lan. The icon

When you look at the Manage Network Connections link on the Network and Sharing Center you do not see
Local Area Connection?
Do you see Wireless Network connection?
You need to check the device manager to see if the card has been disabled.
55e5f74.jpg
It should show two entries with no red or yellow marks. One for wireless (WLAN) and one for wired (Ethernet)

WiFi unable to connect/maintain connection

Hello b... couple things.

First; see if going into Control PanelNetwork Connections and disabling the wireless network connection, then enabling it again fixes it. If it does then you have a work-around...

Second; there was a Realtek driver update offered by Windows Update. If that has
been installed (Control Panel-Programs and Features-View Installed Updates)
roll it back to the previous driver through Device manager and get the
update direct from either Toshiba or Realtek.

See if that helps.

This seems to be happening with that Wireless card and Vista... let me know what happens please.

Acer with Windows Vista does not connect to Internet

You're laptop needs to have a profile for the router. Go to Network and Sharing Center, Manage Wireless Networks. Please remove all the listed networks there. Now click on Add, then Add a Network in Range of this Computer. Select the wireless name of your router and connect. If it asks for a network key, please type your wireless security key then connect. That should do it.

New os installed..

Erm, install adapter? I mean, seriously, go the website of the manufacturers that made your bluetooth adapter and search for vista compatible drivers for your blutooth adapter. Once you get a hold of it. install it. It shouldn;t be an issue once you have the proper driver. however, please do revert back to me if you face difficulties. Thank you.

Windows Vista to a Wireless DI-624 problems

I have a Toshiba Satellite connected to a Di-624m and I have the same problem.

One solution to many problems with D-Link is to ;

UNPLUG BOTH MODEM AND D-LINK.

WAIT 20 SECONDS (TWENTY SECONDS)

PLUG BACK IN AND TRY TO CONNECT.

DO NOT JUST SHUT THE POWER OFF, IT IS NOT THE SAME!

IF YOU DONT UNPLUG LONG ENOUGH IT WILL NOT WORK.

RECCOMENDATIONS:
CONNECT DIRECT WITH A LAN CABLE TO D-LINK

EVEN BETTER
CONNECT TO YOUR MODEM WITH A LAN OR USB-VERY FAST.

REPLACE THE D-LINK HUB! (LESS THAN A $100 !?!?!?)

WARNINGS-

OUR D-LINK ROUTER HAS CAUSED PROBLEMS FOR THE PAST YEAR ON OUR NETWORK, SOME OF THESE PROBLEMS WE BLAMED ON VISTA.

This wireless enviroment can corrupt downloads.
I went crazy trying to solve several download errors.
connecting direct to the hub with a lan cable solved the problem.

I have totally lost faith in this wireless system.
sorry D-link the di-264m is HISTORY soon.!
