JVC GY-HM100U High Definition Camcorder Logo

Jvc GY-HM100u will not focus. I removed the lens hood to attach a wide angle adapter but could neither reattach the hood or get the camera to focus. I tried auto mode, auto focus, even reset the camera to it's defaults. I need help.

The most likely cause for this is a zoom or focus lens out of place or impaired in some way. This will require disassembling camera to remove the lens block and then disassembling the lens block to repair. This can be done fairly inexpensively. However, it's not really a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired by a qualified service technician.

My name is Rick and I'm a professional repair technician with over 20 years in the business and have repaired many of these. I'm semi retired and work from home with little overhead so I can keep repair costs low. If you decide to have the camera repaired, please click HERE for a directory listing that suits your needs.

Don't know how to remove and swap lenses on my olympus sp-590uz

The lens isn't supposed to be removable. With the CLA-11 Adapter Tube you can add an additional lens to the camera, such as close-up, wide-angle, or telephoto. However, these attachments go in front of the lens that is already on the camera.

Hello guys, please only reply if you have a realistic solution. I have a JVC HM100 camcorder and I have recently attached a cheap wide angle converter. Since then, my trouble started. When I take it off,...

When was the last time you white balanced your camera? I can't say for certain, but it sounds very similar to a problem I use to deal with all the time.
  1. set the ND filter according to the lighting
  2. set the WHT.BAL. switch to A or B
  3. locate a place with similar lighting conditions as the subject, place a white object near the center of the screen and zoom in to fill the screen with white
  4. press the auto white balance button
I got all of this from the manual. starting on page 35. I hope this turns out to be it. Let me know how it works out!

I have a jvc GY-HM100U High Definition Camcorder and when I use a pny 4GB sdhc card and put the Video on my Mac I can't play the video because I either get an error message or it says it can't read the...

The gy-hm100 can record to sdhc media up to 32gb in each slot (total 64gb). For best performance you must use class 10 sd cards. Your camera may need updated firmware that enables class 10 support so check the JVC Pro website and follow the firmware instructions if you haven't done so already. Also, make sure your card is formatted and unlocked with plenty free space. 4 gb is not much at all and a card that size may not be of sufficient speed to operate correctly in the gy-hm100.

Need to replace lens

Hi!
The DVC7 has a 43mm filter thread on its lens. Depending on your Bower's thread size, you may need a step-up or step-down adapter ring to fit it to the DVC.
After checking if you have your sizes correct, you need to remove the DVC7's lens hood. After that, it's just a matter of screwing the wide angle lens to the DVC's lens.
Hope this helps!

My Fuji S7000 wont focus when I use a wide angle lens adapter.

I've since found out (via a Fuji forum) that the camera MUST be set to Super Forced Macro for the lens to focus ..... which it now does!

Wide angle/fish eye lens

Hey matty reps,
I found one wide angle lens attachment that should work for your camera and I have attached a link to it so you can see what you think. I have little experience with these types of lens attachments, and have heard they're not nearly as good as having a wide angle/fisheye lens that mounts directly to the camera. If you don't mind losing autofocus you can usually find very cheap manual focus lens that are very high quality lenses for sale at some local camera shops. I hope this helps!

Wide Angle Lenses

wide angle lens aka fish-eye lens, means only the centre of your photo is clearly focused - especially in long distance scenery shots.

Wide angle adapter

I wouldn't worry about the adapter. I'm going to try ordering a telephoto converter this weekend.
