Kodak EasyShare 5100 won't print

Hi FixYa team, my Kodak printer's "Check color ink" red light was flashing so I just put in a new color ink cartridge (even though I am only printing black and white). I restarted the machine but the light is still flashing and it won't print. When I try to print I now get an error message that says the printer is not responding because it is not on - but it is. All the lights are on and the "Check color ink" light is still flashing. And then another error message comes on that says my color ink cartride needs to be replaced - which I just did. I''m on a deadline at work and need to print. Do you know what the issues is? Thank you! Whitney

I have both colour and black lights flashing, I have changed both cartidges and the printer still flashes both lights after POST. Looks like they are just not very reliable

Me too! It prints out paper, but nothing on it. I have replaced cartridges over and over again.

I wish I could just find a good printer.

I replace my printer about every 6months, I just can't find one that works good.

Printer is printing paper, however, you can barely see the printed letters. Also, pictures are printing all washed out.

I have replaced cartridges multiple times.

    Thanks!

i have the same problem! i cant print black ink and i changed both color and black ink

  • Anonymous Jan 24, 2009

Same problem here, the black ink was getting low so I replaced it. It worked for a few prints. A week later I printed a picture from a Kodak camera that looked great. Ten minutes later I printed an email with directions and all that came out was a blank page with one word that was blue in the email.

Kodak ESP 7 will not print. It was out of paper but it is not.
I have taken the paper out and replaced it again and again it still will not work. The error light flashes. What am I suppose to do?

I have had the same frustrating problem.
I cntacted the Kodak live web chat help line and after removing the print head, switching the machine off for 1 min and reconnecting.Clean heads and recalibrate.
.....Still the same.
They then told me the print head was faulty and to contact Kodak for free repalcement.

Try cleaning the printhead, in the printer maintenance program. If that doesn't work, contact Kodak for a replacement printhead. They replaced mine after about 500 pages and it has been good sofar for about 3000 pages & photos.

Hi FixYa team, my Kodak printer's "Check color ink" red light was flashing so I just put in a new color ink cartridge (even though I am only printing black and white). I restarted the machine to try and print some address labels and it acts like it is printing but the paper comes out blank yet I can print pictures. I tried to print and email and it won't do that either.
Thanks.

I attempted to print but the ink is not working. I recently installed new ink cartridges and the color indicator shows that both color and b/w are full

Hi, the is a problem of dry ink on the cartridge. you must remove the cartridge and try cleaning with a soft cloth, preferably damp. after cleaning, you should see ink coming out the cartridge when you simply press/bring the cloth near the passage. Last option, immerse only the lower part in warm water for 2 mins.

Printer will not print black ink

Seems to be a common fault with Kodak EasyShare 5100/5300

Contact Kodak Support and go though the following tests:

Remove and re-seat Printer Cartridge(s) - Done

Clean Printhead - Done

Calibrate Printer - Test Sheet Not Complete!

Run Computer Colour Test - Done

They will then send you a new Print Head.

Our Kodak 5100 printer will not stop a red light flashing on ink

How often do you use the printer? I have the same problems with a Kodak AIO 5500. Go to the "Help Center" section of the Kodak.com website. This will lead you through troubleshooting and if the printhead is bad they should send you a new one under warranty. This is what I did.
